Tonkotsu Kazan Ramen serves a really good lunch special at $10++ for the CBD working crowd. Whilst most diners dig into their ramen specialities, I actually prefer their katsudon.
Each katsudon comes topped with eggs and onions simmered in a dashi broth and a huge piece of pork katsu cutlet. I wasnt expecting much to be honest but the katsu was really thicc and juicy with a nice crispy crust. And of course, don't forget about the free flow hard boiled eggs on the side!
Psssst, keep it a secret but I may just prefer their katsudon to their ramen offerings!
Went to Tonkotsu Kazan Ramen 2 weeks ago and ordered their Beef Sukiyaki Kazan and their Hot stone Chicken Katsu Curry Rice (Total ~$36 for 2 pax)😇 Overall ratings 8/10! Enjoyed both dishes but feels that it is slightly pricey. Would head back again when im craving for the Kazan soup😅
Famous for their volcano ramen, I finally gotten a chance to try their specialty.
The ingredients are put in a hot stone with broth pouring in, before they place a tube on top of it; which the smoke will come out from the top, making it looks like a volcano.
I must say it is very hot and keep burning my tongue every time eating them.
Lots of ingredients inside, especially the vegetable and ramen. The broth was very tasty. I found the portion was a bit too big for myself, couldn’t finish the vegetables at the end. Perhaps I would recommend to go with the small version instead.
You also can request for a bowl of rice to go with them.
Came here twice already and im in love with their Kazan Beef Sukiyaki ramen ($17.80)😍 It is so comforting especially on a cold day, with soup thats flavourful and it includes vegetables eg cabbage and noodles! It also comes with a side of rice and its very filling for one person!😇Also ordered a Hotstone Curry Rice ($11)! I love that this store has a few outlets in SG so whenever im craving for it im able to pop by to the nearest outlet🤣 Overall ratings 9/10 because its affordable and delicious hehe!!👍🏻
I'm so disappointed. I thought this was an interesting ramen joint. Well it was, since this came in a stone pot and the soup was poured at the table to sort of cook the ingredients. But despite the ton of ingredients, nothing was really good, except the pork. Too much veggies, unusual ramen, lame broth.
An entertaining dish served in a hot stone topped off with a “volcano”. Prepare yourself for hot steam gushing out of the spout as your ramen cooks! It’s decent ramen (I’ll put it in my “gimmicky” ramen list), but the portions are huge with lots and lots of veggies which I appreciate. They provide free eggs too and they come with gooey centres - a perfect snack while waiting for your ramen to arrive.
