Went all the way to SS15 again on a very humid day for my bacon fix. 😂
Ordered Bacon Strips (RM11.90) which, I must say, are not the strips I was expecting -.- Was looking forward to thinly cut, crispy and juicy strips but got eight shoulder cuts (I think) which is still good btw! I actually did tapaw another set :)) along with this, I tried their Lemongrass Pork (RM13.90). I am not much of a fan of this - only because the lemongrass taste is really strong. Serving was big though, with sunny side up egg and a cup of rice :)
The Hungry Hog was quiet when I went there, good ambience. Loved the twigs/branches interiors. It's very easy to find when you get off SS15 LRT station :)
The porky portion of the 3 Little Pig is superb! The meat are well cooked with soft texture. Taste just great. But just one thing turns off the whole idea of a burger - the bun. The bun needs alot of improvement as it was so dry and hard 😨 if the bun is done well and soft, this will be perfect!

This is massive porky goodness! The hogfather was a beast! For RM98.90 I got 8 different ways of cooked pork. You name it, ribs, pork chops, sausages, bacon, ham, pulled pork, meatballs, and patties! Everything was amazing! Most importantly, I love the patty, ham, meatball, and sausage.
The patty and meatball basically tasted the same. They were so meaty and juicy and so full those savory goodness. The pulled pork tasted familiar, like a particular spice commonly used in curries. I cannot name it however. I can't say it enough but the five of us was super satisfied with this one platter of hogfather.
For dessert we also shared a cup of bacon gelato. It was full of vanilla beans which made the gelato so flavorful. The bacon bits given was quite generous. What unites these two elements is the honey drizzled on top of the gelato. My first bacon gelato experience was pretty great!
Do you live life half-arsed? Well you shouldn't! Live life to the extreme like the chef's at The Hungry Hog! Located a few stops before Oregi, Fat Baby and quite some ways before Sangkaya, THH is no stranger to those who study in SS15 or live in the area. They specialize in pork dishes such as their Siew Yoke (roast pork) and pork chops and of course, pork burger. However when I visited for the first time today (Yes, staying in the area for so long and after the place has relocated once and renovated, only do I make my first visit), I notice they could be famous for another thing: going to the extreme. Flavour-wise.
I decided to post a picture of the mashed potatoes because that was, in my opinion the only thing not EXTREME! on the table today.
Yes, I will capitalize and end all my EXTREME!'s with an exclamation (!) mark.
The meatballs spaghetti (16.90 pre-tax) that came first was the sneak peek of what was to come. The pasta was overcooked to the EXTREME! and it was also salty to the EXTREME!. The meatballs were quite dry as well.
The three little pigs burger (RM 17.90 pre-tax) which I had, had bread buns dry to the EXTREME! but alright, give credit to the bacon and the patty.
The Heuvos Rancheros (RM 18.90 pre-tax) came with a salsa side that was spicy to the EXTREME! it almost sent me into shock. The main was not bad tho, a little too salty. I said a little cause compared to the pasta, this was fine.
Their mashed potatoes were good, skin and all gave it a good texture and the sauce was a little bland but you would think with all these EXTREME! flavours in everything else, this was a good thing.
Oh and everything sells out really fast. We arrived before 9 and things like the pork chop were all sold out. :(
