For $12, you get your choice of base, a protein, 3 veges, 1 sprinkle and 1 dressing. "Just like any other salad bar," you may think. But what I really love about The Daily Cut is the generosity and quality - a salad bowl that actually tastes good and fill you up. The amount of protein and vege is surely more than what is given by many other salad bars, and their dressing is definitely homemade-quality as it tastes very clean and fresh. Tried their rosemary chicken breast and skirt steak and both were fab.

And bonus points for their ergonomic, environmentally-friendly bowl! 👍

Came with high expectations but was slightly disappointed in some components. My rib eye steak was super dry and tough but the chicken and tilapia was pretty okay. Have to say that their ginger ponzu did save the whole thing tho. Either way, would come back to check out the other sides!

I really wanted to like this, but I couldn't. At the end of my meal, I decided I would never eat here again. Here's why:

1) Everything I ordered felt very heavily salted & oily.

2) If you pay extra for your protein to be steak, you expect it (or at least half of it) to be edible. It wasn't. I broke a plastic fork in TWO places trying to eat it. The only reason why I didn't break more forks was because I decided to tear the beef into smaller pieces with my teeth and my NAILS. Yes, I had to use my hands. Imagine how crazy I looked.

3) Service isn't great. None of the 5 staff behind the counter told me where the cutlery is. After collect my food from the counter, I walked a few steps back to my seat, reversed, & asked them. (For the record, it's around the corner from the cashier.)

4) With an open kitchen concept, & the staff being very noisy (no customers to serve so chit chat lor), I can imagine people getting annoyed. Personally, I am indifferent. I really don't care. But I *could* hear them through the music from my earphones. That's loud.

Stuffing my face before my class while studying. Just realised the scope is a lot wider than I thought for my test this Fri. 😥#cantstartresearchifidontpass On the other hand, neither have I been able to research on my topic because of this test. Let's hope I don't get questioned by my Prof tmr. On a side note, why would anyone pay $12 for this? I can easily cook this at home?! 😥Just some grilled Tilapia, steamed broccoli, baked sweet potatoes, sautéed button mushrooms and asparagus #eatingcleanisexpensive #burpple #dailycut

My fav sauce will be the honey mustard and thai sauce. And my fav supplement will be button mushroom. Alittle expensive for salad but the OLs will love it. And a place to hang out for guiltless dinner with friends! -M

The Beast is the largest salad you can possibly get at The Daily Cut, and for this we had three proteins, a complex carb and four supplements (The Beast allows only three, but we added one more additional cost). For proteins, we had the Turkey Breast, Tilapia and Tofu; the turkey breast would fancy clean eaters more while the Tilapia was surprisingly well seasoned and carried a smoky savoury flavour. Tofu Steak was surprisingly firm and succulent, after being chargrilled. Opted for Romainne Lettuce for the complex carb, while the supplements were sous vide egg, broccoli, quinoa and button mushrooms of which the last cannot be missed if you enjoyed sautéed mushrooms because of its strong earthy flavours. Like how they offer so much customization for their salads and even allows for addition of items at an additional cost which makes it more cost-efficient to share one with a few people. Sauces are also free for grabs; you can choose from a wide variety from a sauce bar where all are prepackaged in containers so you can try all of them. My favourite is the Ginger Ponzu for it felt like a Japanese Teriyaki spiked with a bit of wasabi; definitely matched well with beef steak! Will be back some day if I have the chance again :)
