Egg Yakitori (M Size) ($6.90)
Ordered with Green Veg Combo + Miso Soup ($2) I didn't like kimchi version but egg version still nicer than kimchi tbh. So yakitori still taste the same as I tried it before on previous outlet.
Grape Matcha Latte ($4.30)
opt out for no sugar and I didn't really like the taste of matcha latte (so weird colour for matcha tbh) but grape really taste like fanta?
I have been eating Sukiya almost once every other week! My typical order is the charcoal grilled yakitori with half boiled egg ($6.90). This is actually my first time trying other dishes - teriyaki salmon with half boiled egg ($11.90) and added on a sides of tori karage!
Glad to report that this didnt disappoint! The salmon was not overcooked hard but just nicely rightly cooked, and it was thinly sliced with tasty teriyaki marination. Enjoyed it so much!! Will order this again next time!
love the different sizings / portions
Yet another reason why @sukiya.singapore is clear of Yoshinoya despite being less accessible are the seasonal specials. This time, they’ve got the Negi Shio lineup, which is just Japanese for spring onion & salt. Their standard beef bowl is enhanced with an utter truckload of spring onion, but not so much on salt which is a good thing as the savoury beef broth in the rice didn’t need any extra help.⠀
⠀
I’ve sang the praises of Sukiya’s stellar gyudon (beef rice bowl) before, and the same great gyudon feels exceptionally light & healthy due to the fresh, vegetal notes of the spring onion. While the negi does occasionally detract from the superb savouriness of the simmered beef shabu shabu, it definitely enhanced the enjoyment of the gyudon. Also, I didn’t know that ordering the XL gyudon ($11.20) came with two half boiled eggs instead of one, but the more the merrier.⠀
⠀
Unfortunately I didn’t know that Sukiya also has another negi shio gyudon that comes topped with fried garlic cloves. As I’m a groupie for garlic and beef, that sounds like ample incentive for me to make a return trip to Sukiya soonish.
Had this Gyudon M ($4.90) and it is delicious. For that price and in a shopping mall, it is really affordable.
Amount of pork was quite generous and juicy. They also served free cup of green tea too. Good for office worker working near Suntec
