This cake looked so delicate and pretty, I couldn't resist ordering one. Also, had heard some pretty not bad reviews so i thought, why not?

But oh no, I really regretted my decision๐Ÿ˜ช The first mouthful had me kind of impressed by the distinct notes of lychee, but that happiness was short-lived because of the lingering aftertaste which was not so pleasant, reminding me of canned lychees and sort of artifical. Found the flavours pretty off balance as the cake tasted a far cry from a cheesecake. I guess the only good point of this was the bits of lychee flesh hidden within the cake which provided a nice contrast in terms of texture to the otherwise soft cake.

Shared the cake between a friend and the 2 of us could barely bring ourselves to finish the cake because the more we ate, the more apparent our dislike for the cake became. Guess its only pretty to take pictures and look at ๐Ÿ™

Quite surprised to find out that Starbucks โ€œReserveโ€ has gone and the counter bar at this outlet is replaced with more seats. We are big fans of Starbucks Reserve so we decide to switch our gear and try their new item instead.
The Matcha Azuki Creme $10.20 is a pretty looking drink with Sakura petals look alike candy. However, to enjoy this drink, you gotta be a sweet tooth.๐Ÿ˜† Cold Brew $5.20 fares better & quell the soaring heat in the afternoon!

Don't usually drink starbucks but I'm a sucker for anything matcha so I just had to try this!

I think the concept is rather interesting. The foam at the top really stays and doesn't disintegrate into the drink, so you can experience the different layers. That soft, fluffy cream and the coffee.

Comments as a matchaholic; requested for no sugar because I thought that I would be able to savour my matcha cold foam more but alas there was but a slight hint of tea fragrance that was gone rather quickly. The drink was still a tad sweet, so i think the cream itself might be sweetened? Might just stick to my Matcha-espresso fusion, which I think carries a stronger matcha element.

Unlike your usual starbucks beverages which come in a lid with a hole to poke your straw in, this was supposed to come with a sip cover, but I was given the standard lids because I was told that they had ran out of the covers intended for the drink for the grande. Perhaps they could've considered offering me a size exchange or something because I felt that the sip cover affects the enjoyment of the drink; at least for me.

Drank the first sip without mixing the matcha properly in first and was pleased by the distinct bittersweet notes of the matcha but after mixing the drink and a few more sips, the coffee definitely takes the stronger lead. Could still taste the matcha though and drink wasn't too sweet so I might actually order this again!
