The only decent β€˜tai chow’ type of Chinese food in the heart of Little India. I think their famous Sin Kee rice is too overrated. But go for the fried rice instead, you won’t regret. Probably the only place that serves fried rice with 3 types of pork (yess.. lap cheong, spam and char siew!!)

A favourite for nearby office crowds and tourists alike. Be prepare for long queue during lunch hour and not so enthusiastic servers πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

For a bowl of comfort in Brickfield area. Traditional braised rice in gravy, hainanese chicken chop that minced before fried served with baked bean, pan seared tomato and fried potato.

It's been years since I last dine here, the braised rice seem to be lesser topping and I do wish more gravy to be serve together.

Jazz up those nothing-special work days at Sin Kee, where lunch is promptly served between noon to 2:15pm. For those two hours, the old but very well-kept shophouse transforms into a bustling daytime dive serving their one-of-a-kind signature dish: Sin Kee Steam Rice (RM10). Carefully (it's hot) lift that overturned bowl to reveal a bed of sauce-smothered rice splendidly topped with pork, seafood, sausages, egg and greens β€” the poster child of comfort food. The sweet, briny flavours come through thanks to its winning sauce, stewed to perfection over long hours. Apart from the foolproof favourite, the stalwart restaurant also cooks up a ravishing Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM14) loyal to its name, doused in a tasty gravy alongside peas, fried potatoes and onions. On your return visit, go off-course and try some of Sin Kee's also delicious tai chow dishes β€” the Nam Yu Ribs (RM23), Butter Cream Chicken (RM25) or the market-fresh Sweet & Sour Fried Garoupa (seasonal).
Avg price per person: RM15
