A S$4.60 selection that is seldom seen from a Tau Huay shop, some addition stuff that were added in were the grass jelly, red beans and chunks of chilled steamed yam.
The ingredients were to my liking, for sure. Just not so sure about whether the hot soya beancurd really went well with cold grass jelly. I like both, but one hot and one cold item mixed together still turned out quite warm, so the best way to enjoy this chilled was to pack it home and let it rest in the fridge until cold. Also, chunky yam had a different texture from yam balls because of the absence of flour, but comparing this with other well-known brands, this one might still have a long way to go.
We love old school and we also love old-school prices.
Rochor Beancurd House has a very humble interior. There are only some foldable tables and plastic stools. But we feel that just adds to the atmosphere.
The beancurd is really smooth and the pastries are light, flaky and flavorful but don't fall apart easily. Definitely a great place for a cheap tasty snack. We guess the average patron would spend between $2.50-$4.
Even though I had a full dinner, I still could not resist having this. π #MsJaniceEats_LocalSnacks
