Penang Place (Suntec City)

Year‑end meal do be like that ~ feasting upon Penang cuisine. The Christmas Buffet Menu runs until the first day of the new year. It doesn’t differ much from their normal buffet, but the main star during this festive season was probably the chilli crab.

The food was generally delicious. Whatever flavour it should be, they had it, and it was indulgent. Strong flavours, textures mostly cooked to the right amount. Food is good, but I personally enjoyed their beef rendang, satay, kueh pie tee and pulut hitam more.

Service was okay, though a tad slow as there were many customers. It’s faster if you clear your own plate. The place was crowded and full of seniors, probably making full use of the senior discount to enjoy good food.

It’s a nice place that suits most palates and a good spot to bring your parents to.

One thing you must order here would be this if you want to try Penang style of lorbak.

You hardly find this in Singapore and glad to see them offering it here.

Featuring generous filling of pork meat inside, a perfect side dish to complete your Penang foods here.

Also comes with generous amount of ingredients, I love their chilli paste with lots of fried shallots.

The soup was close to the taste in Penang but could be more spicy.

The curry chicken was actually come in a claypot, together with a plate of rice and chap cai.

The curry was creamy and tasty, with generous size of chicken meat and potato given. Although I was hoping it to be more spicy.

One of the place to go to when you crave for Penang foods. Penang Place is actually a very big restaurant at Suntec City which offered buffet style (no self service during this pandemic).

If you feel you can’t eat so much, you also can go for the ala carte menu.

Their Penang char koay teow portion is enough for 2 person, featuring great wok hei with generous portions of prawn and oyster in it.
