Dined here because I had a voucher. But turns out I didn’t really enjoy my visit here

👉🏻fried fish with ginger onion $15.8++: I’m not sure why the fish wasn’t fried. Diff from the photo from another review. Fish is frozen fish and can taste a metallic aftertaste. The sauce that accompanied it was also slightly salty not the ginger onion sauce I’m used to

👉🏻salted eggs shrimp $22.8++: this was alright the nicer dish of all 3 items. But the prawn didn’t taste v fresh either slightly mushy. And the flour batter separates from the prawn v easily. The salted egg taste could also be much stronger

👉🏻 Yangzhou fried rice 9.8++: I had one scoop of this rice and couldn’t eat further. The fried rice didn’t have the egg fragrant fried rice taste at all. It was very bland and had a very strong rice smell that I couldn’t take it. Felt like I wasted my money for it

But perhaps I ordered all the wrong dishes from this stall. If anyone wants to visit here maybe you have better luck trying other dishes

📍Orchid Roast Fish 寬窄小巷

Ordered level 1 spiciness roast fish, even so, already pretty spicy can~ shiok!!!😋

The fish comes with some sides already (potato, black fungus, beancurd skin etc)...Added on lotus roots and the thick vermicelli thingy, yummy!

Damage: $33.45

Free flow side dishes (not the fish). Side dishes tasted mediocre, nothing to shout about. The pork belly had very smelly and strong pork smell🤣
Grilled fishes were good! Big portion of fish with unique in-house sauce

Huge fan of Chinese food and this spicy fish just made me love it more!!! Went to Orchid Roast Fish (easily accessible from China Town MRT. We went for the buffet of weekdays (Monday to Thursday) at $18.80++/pax. Heard the price for dinner rose to $20.80++ now though. But anyway, it was buffet and we had free flow fish (cooked in varying styles), vege, mushroom, meat, pork and beef!!!!! It was really worth it considering the price we paid for the large variety of food! We had the fish in fragrant spices, followed by picked vegetable soup and then mala!!! glad it was in this order because the mala totally burnt us. Fish was soft, tender and meaty, with other ingredients being fresh. However a plate of beancurd skin we had was slightly moudly, which we alerted the staff and they immediately took it away for us.
Drinks are excluded from this buffet though, so we had to incur the drinks price! The crowd started streaming in at 6pm and despite saying dinner is only for 2h, they did not chase us out as the place was not full since they had 2 levels. Staff were friendly and helpful to our questions and orders.
