A spot that always has a long queue for lunch on the weekdays! Was my first time dining in and somehow it tasted better dining in than when taken away? 😂 The soybean base broth was more robust than we remember. Prices have increased slightly but their ingredients are always fresh and portion is pretty substantial.

Visited Orchard Yong Tau Foo today for some affordable eats in the Somerset area☺️! Great variety of ingredients which ranged from vegetables🥬 to tofu and fishball etc., and they all tasted fresh! Loved their soybean broth, very flavourful and palatable to have with the ingredients. Added on beehoon which soaked up some of the lovely broth, super yummy as we slurped it up🍜. Overall a tasty and comforting meal🤤!
The soup was delicious with the vegetables being very soft and easy to bite. The keys télé was also very soft and it tastes absolutely delicious when mixed with the soup👍👍👍👍👍
- taukee not crisp, they don’t refry but didn’t rly mind this
- fish paste wrapped w steamed taukee is nice, savoury
- kway teow was soft but not soggy and goes well w sauce n crisp onion + sesame seeds
- sauce is the brown sweet ccf kind that I grew up w!!
- taukwa is good!! soft but still holds its shape and not sour
- wanton filling is like meatball texture, skin was soggy
- taupok soaked up the juices and the paste was nice
- soup was a bit salty for me. But came w lottts of soya bean
would revisit! the queues r quite insane tho so gotta come before the lunch crowd. also min 7 pieces without noodles
Is hard to believe one can find a bowl of noodles that only cost less than 4 dollars in Orchard Road. This however has proof otherwise that hidden gem like this prawn noodle does exist.
Situated at the same floor as famous Orchard Yong Tau Fu and Osho gyozas , this stall basically operates like a canteen that sell variety of food from cut fruits to prawn noodles to economical Rice’s and beehoon. It also sell a healthy range of desserts like ondeh ondeh to fried sesame ball.
I have ate at this stall twice and mostly are there for snacks and coffee after eating at Orchard Yong Tau Fu.
This round being there early ; I decided to go for my pranab noodle fix and the bowl of noodle prices at $3.50/-
Cooking was speedy despite having a lot of morning crowd.
7 pieces - $4.90 ++ with adding noodles (50 cents) so basically need to choose the ingredients, order dry or soup, choose which types of noodles match and need for uncle to assign the seats at there. I order kwap chap (thin version) and soup. The ingredients was quite fresh and the soup was refreshing broth.
