Every 初二, our family will have lunch together outside. This year, we chose to have it at Peach Blossoms as we really love the food here! We ordered a mixture of dishes, dim sum and dessert, and were super full at the end🤤. Our favourites were the Mapo Beancurd, Stir-fried Celtuce Stem and Crispy Taro Puff. The Mapo Beancurd was soft and silky🍲, and the sauce was spicy and numbing but not overpowering🌶️. We also loved the different textures in the Stir-fried Celtuce stem with Sakura Ebi, Fresh Lily bulb and stuffed Lotus Root. The Celtuce stem and Lotus Root is crunchy, while the shrimp paste was soft🍤, really good! However, after dining here twice, we did feel that the menu was quite limited as we were running out of dishes that we would like to try😥. But for the delicious food, we'll definitely be back again in the future👍!

Happy 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣3️⃣! Had our first meal of the year at Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck🦆, a restaurant we've wanted to try for the longest time. Their Peking Duck definitely lives up to its name of one of the best in Singapore👍. The skin is thin, crispy with just the right amount of fat, and the meat is juicy, not dry at all🥩. Having the meat on it's own is good, but we preferred it in the wheat wrap. It tastes refreshing and slightly sweet with the scallions, cucumber🥒 and sauce. Super good! We chose to stir-fry the remaining duck on the bone with ginger and scallion. The gravy was really nice and savoury, we think this would go super well with rice🍚. Overall, the Peking Duck was really delicious. We loved having different ways to enjoy one dish, it made the experience more fun and enjoyable😍!

Had a lovely lunch at Si Chuan Dou Hua yesterday, with delicious food and a stunning view from the top of UOB plaza🌇. We were not super adventurous in the Sichuan dishes we ordered, hence they all had a nice heat🌶️ to it but not to the point we had to keep reaching out for tea🍵. One of our favourites was the Stir-fried Sliced Pork with Leek in Spicy Sauce, as you could really taste the wok hei in it🍲. The Deep-Fried Prawns in Passion Fruit Sauce was an absolute winner as well, as the batter was thin and crispy, and the prawns were big and had a nice bite to it🍤. Coupled with the slightly sweet and sour passion fruit sauce, super delicious! Overall, all the dishes we had, from main dishes to dessert, were not bad at all. Definitely a memorable meal☺️!

Tucked away in a corner of Far East Plaza is Hong Hu Express, a small and cosy store that specializes in noodles🍜 and dumplings. Loved their generous portion of Ban mian with vegetables🥬, minced meat, mushroom and egg🍳. The noodles had a good bite and the soup was delicious, really yummy and affordable! The Pan-fried dumplings, though a little oily, was crispy, juicy and had a good amount of filling in it🥟. A must-order to go along with your noodles😋!

Worth a try is also the Braised Pork Belly Burger! Super juicy and tender pork belly piled in a well-baked bun🥯. Had it while it was still piping hot and it was so comforting🤤. Food that may seem simple but done so well. Highly recommend to try if you're in the area🤩!

Tried Biang Biang Noodles today, a Xi'an specialty and we loved it☺️! These are long, thick and broad noodles mixed with tomato egg🍅, vegetables, pork and some chilli. We especially loved the texture of the noodle, as it was thick and chewy and the sauce just coats so well on the broad noodles, super nice and flavourful🍜!

Visited Orchard Yong Tau Foo today for some affordable eats in the Somerset area☺️! Great variety of ingredients which ranged from vegetables🥬 to tofu and fishball etc., and they all tasted fresh! Loved their soybean broth, very flavourful and palatable to have with the ingredients. Added on beehoon which soaked up some of the lovely broth, super yummy as we slurped it up🍜. Overall a tasty and comforting meal🤤!

The Crispy London Snow Duck Bun was on the sweeter side while the Black Pepper version had a pretty strong peppery🧂 taste which contrasted well with the slightly sweet duck filling.

Happy Mother's Day💐! To celebrate, we got a Parent's Day Set from London Fat Duck🦆. As many restaurants are coming up with specially curated set meals, we decided to get the set as it seemed like a pretty fuss-free option☺️. The Roast Duck was nice and went well with the braised sauce, but the rest of the dishes tasted pretty normal. The portions were also pretty small.

Overall, the set had a pretty good mix of meats, vegetables and carbs, but we did wish that the portion was a tad more to justify the price😬

Managed to take a good break and enjoyed lots of good food during the long weekend, and Dong Bei food was one of them😀! The Pickled Cabbage with Starch Noodle, having a sour taste to it, was very appetising. The Sauteed Tomato with Egg was super smooth and silky🍅🍳, while the Sweet and Sour Pork was really crispy, even after being left out for some time! However, we did find it's sauce a tad too vinegary, and preferred the pork pieces that has less sauce on it as those were crispier and tasted less vinegary🥩. The Sichuan Style Boiled Sliced Fish was super soft as well, with just the right amount of spice🌶️. With its affordable prices and good portions, it makes a great place for gatherings. The menu is super extensive as well, and we'll definitely be back to try other Dong Bei dishes🤓!

Every Chinese New Year, our family will definitely visit a Chinese restaurant for lunch together, and this year we decided to try some Teochew food! Our family's favourite was the Braised Irish Fat Duck🦆, which was super tender and well-braised. Another must-try is also their Wok Fried 'Hor fun' with Kai Lan and Preserved Turnip🍲 which although was a tad bit oily, tasted really interesting with the crunchy and slightly sweet preserved turnip😲. It was our first time trying Teochew food, and we were pleasantly surprised by how good it was! Yums~🤤
