Very hot and quite sweet, but otherwise it's not bad at all.
Btw neighbouring stall Ji Ji wanton noodles have a pay first system before u join u the queue. Very cock imo esp since their queue moves so slowly. Quite a coincidence their name means cock in mandarin haha
Haven't had soursop in a long time so maybe I'm just not attuned to the normal standard but I really liked this. Unabashed in the sweetness, depth, and sourness. Even if it turns out to be just canned I would still admit I really enjoyed it
Probably one of the few places you can get a no frills Orh nee . Not cheap for hawker prices but when the craving comes and you don’t feel like cooking - then no choice 🤣
A little different from the traditional style given that the yam is just steamed and mashed and mixed with coconut milk .
Topped with gingko nuts and sweet potato cubes.
Quite disappointed with the portion and consistency of the Orh nee in recent times .
Perhaps this is the peril of writing about good food because after a while , they get too famous and then (inevitably standards slide .
就是不一样了。
Engulfing the whole Orh nee was the coconut Milk and a watered down consistency of Orh nee .
I did hear from the stall owner that Quite many people started ordering Orh nee after reading some posts online .
I sure hope that post wasn’t contributed by me.
Not going back for some time soon .
Yes I know this weather is too crazy for a hot dessert but i woke up with a dense craving for orh nee - not just any Orh nee but the Orh nee specifically from ONly you. 😂
I like their version of Orh nee given that it’s not too sweet and that it’s not greasy - it won’t pass as a traditional Orh nee but it’s certainly good enough for me . It’s creamy and full of authentic yammy goodness - unlike most places that use pre packed Orh nee that’s cooked till sickeningly sweet - this is the real stuff .
3.20 is not cheap to pay at a Hawker but you do get quite a huge portion and topped with a generous amount of sweet potatoes and ginkgo nuts .
Craving satisfied !😇
Such a great start to the weekend !
Possibly one of the best yam paste dessert you can find. A bowl of smooth yammy goodness, not too sweet or thick, topped with sweet potatoes and gingko nuts - properly prepared, not the horrible canned type that you'd find some stalls using. I opted to leave out the coconut milk, not quite a fan of that combination. At $3.20, price point slightly high for a hawker center but I'll willingly pay for the awesomeness of this hard-to-get-right dessert.
