The toast came golden and crisp with gooey cheese pulling through the middle. The chicken luncheon added a savoury bite. Flavours were average, decent enough to enjoy though not a standout compared to their heavier sets like mee siam or rendang 》RM6.90

The ayam goreng mee siam set comes with fried chicken leg paired with dry vermicelli and a fried egg. The fried chicken leg was the highlight, crisp with spiced crumbs that gave a savoury crunch in every bite. The sambal on the side brought sharp heat, cutting through the richness and tying the plate together. Portion was generous and filling, making it a hearty plate 》RM14.50

The kailan leaves were fried till light and crispy, almost like veggie chips, then finished with a fluffy layer of meat floss that added a sweet-savoury touch. Every bite was crisp, airy and disappears fast once it hits the table 》RM23.30 / Small

The tofu was golden and crisp on the outside, soft inside, soaking up a savoury sauce that was rich without being heavy. The minced meat added depth and texture, while the pickled vegetables gave a bright, tangy lift that balanced everything out. Loved the contrast and it is great with rice 》RM16.30 / Small

The duck is a standout with crispy skin, juicy meat and that gentle herbal depth that makes each bite feel comforting. What really stood out is the sauce. It’s rich, fragrant and so good that I find myself drizzling it over every spoonful of rice. A dish that feels both indulgent, nourishing and one that easily earns repeat orders 》RM26 / Upper Quarter

The curry laksa here is a proper comfort bowl. Creamy coconut broth with a spicy kick, loaded with fried fish ball, fish cake slices, beansprouts, tofu puffs and crispy beancurd skin. Went with thick bee Hoon and it’s chunkier than the usual SG laksa noodles, almost like mee tai mak, with that chewy bite that makes every slurp surprisingly satisfying.

The signature nasi lemak comes with all the essentials. Fluffy lemak rice, fiery sambal, ikan bilis, peanuts, cucumber, cabbage and a fried egg. The fried chicken is crispy on the outside, tender inside and perfect with the sambal. I added on a slice of otak for that smoky and spiced punch which really elevated the plate though it’s not part of the standard set.

Dropped by for a super satisfying lunch! Love how we can build our own bowl with fresh, house-made ingredients.

Went with a mix of favourites — plump herh keow (fish dumpling), stuffed beancurd, bitter gourd, chilli, scallops, fishballs, yee wat (fish paste) and some fresh greens. The broth was light yet flavourful, with crispy seaweed adding that extra bit of texture.

For noodles, we had mee tai mak and carb-free fish noodles, both well-coated in savoury dark sauce. The mee tai mak had a nice chew, while the fish noodles were smooth, bouncy, and a rare find. Also grabbed the fried fish cake with sweet chilli dip on the side — simple but seriously addictive.

A solid spot for a comforting, fuss-free meal. Will definitely be back to mix and match more combos!

海脚人 is known for its fresh, high-quality seafood offerings, and it doesn’t disappoint. Whether you’re a fan of clams, prawns, fish, or squid, the menu has something for everyone.

The mixed seafood noodles is a hearty bowl filled with a variety of seafood such as crab, clams, fish, squid, and shrimp bathed in a fragrant fish bone broth. The broth is infused with Hua Diao wine (花雕酒), adds a rich and savoury depth that elevates the dish.

Other dishes I tried are the leopard coral grouper that offers perfectly seasoned tender fish with a subtle sweetness. The baby octopus is paired with a light and flavourful sauce. It’s texture is soft yet slightly chewy, offering a satisfying bite in every mouthful. Another good to share is the packed with flavour fried fish cake, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Moving on to beverages, I’m not a fool (made with cucumber, lemon and green tea) is perfect for a hot day. This refreshing beverage strikes a perfect balance between sweet and tangy with hints of herbal notes. The milk tea is rich and creamy, with a smooth texture that’s well-balanced and not overly sugary.

Overall, Hai Kah Lang worth a visit if you are around the area and craving seafood.

($6.50) it's quite warm tbh but at least got crispy and crunchy for tart. But the crust was quite milky and creamy and not that much egg taste inside.

I believe many Singaporeans are familiar with this restaurant that famous for their paper wrapped chicken.

Although we came on Tuesday night but surprisingly there’s a queue with the locals during dinner peak time.

Thankfully the queue went fast and they actually served their dishes pretty fast also.

Love the herbal taste of their paper wrapped chicken. Soft and tender.
