Mr prata sucked big time the last time I tried it (I'm talking palak paneer which was so watery the green parts separated from the water and anaemic thosai)
Was forced to head there yesterday afternoon coz everything else in the area was too far out from my campus and was feelin sulky about it cos I'm quite particular about my egg thosai but WOW WHAT A CHANGE! This was crisp without a fault and HUGE and the dal and sambar were decent enough too. Thumbs up to whoever works there on weekends, any other time, go at ur own risk.
Including 2 pieces of naan & 2 types of vegetarian sides.
Awesome portion & satisfying flavours!
Refreshing cup of iced lime juice.
Friendly services & cool clean interiors.
Had the egg onion prata and fried chicken briyani. Prata was okay but the briyani rice was not flavourful. Service was slow even though it was off peak on Sunday morning.
One of the better dum briyani. Rice is soft and moist. The fish was well cooked and gravy is just right for fish. There’re salad and poppadom. Overall a good dish.
Overall: 2/10
Mr Prata is an amazing place because it never fails to serve persistently bad prata. The last 5 times I’ve gone there the food has been consistently bad. I recently went there and ordered this cheese onion. The prata was super doughey and there wasn’t a lot of cheese. To top it off, the onions were kinda damp and didn’t taste fresh. Go here if you want bad prata.
Mr Prata is available at Evans Road, Tampines and Bedok. Besides pratas, roti john and briyani, they also serve Western and Mediterranean dishes. Please read my review at www.hungryghost.sg
