We went on a weekday and was the only table there at first. Drinks came pretty fast but the food took at least 45 minutes! The table that came after us was served their appetiser a couple of minutes before our mains.
Anyways, chicken was cooked well and the rosemary sauce was yummy. But that presentation of veges? Hmm.
This is an interesting surprise considering that most of the food here is mainly to the Asian culinary influence but in the menu, a particular dish from the main section caught my eye! Well it sounds simple and intriguing to try.. (Note: not to go for their dessert or their appetizers). This is quite a generous portion of halibut being served that was poached with the buttermilk that softens and tenderize the protein of the fish yet brings it a tangy taste to it.. Their mushroom consommé was inspired from the French technique of making a clear soup which is mainly with meat but for this instance it is made with mushroom and vegetable stock which brings a hint of woody taste and aroma to it that goes quite well with the milky fish
Remember my sandwich craving? I had it fulfilled here at Melur & Thyme. We wanted to have an early dinner before movie, but we ended up watching a movie first, so we were quite hungry after the movie.
It was my first time here, I had no idea what I wanted. I settled for this beef brisket sandwich, but I opted for the cucumber pickles to be excluded (it was in the description).
I ended up eating it part by part. First I had the top bun, then I had the beef, then I removed the greens and tomato slices and ate the bottom bun.
I forgot what kind of bun they used, but I liked it. I think it was multigrain or something. The beef was not too chewy or hard to eat, but I have tasted (cheaper) tender ones. I think it was also a bit too dry/boring, they could use a little bit more sauce/dressing. It came with chilli sauce, but I didn't like it.
