The newly-opened second Mamacitas outlet located in the ever-busy Lau Pa Sat has wasted no time in drawing a crowd. Tired of typical hawker food day in day out? Food of Costa Rican cuisine ought to solve the problem. Business at their first outlet in Amoy Street Food Centre is brisk, and their already-popular second outlet is testament to their success. Bestsellers include the satisfying chicken/beef burrito, crunchy chalupas, and owner Ms Vega's signature dish, the arroz con mariscos (a seafood fried rice).
Super fab lunch, at just $7.90 (w/o add-ons). Love the combination of fresh lettuce, authentic salsa, red peppers, stewed beef & avocados (I asked for the add-on, $1 for 3 slices). Comes with a small side of rice & stewed potatoes too. Be ready to wait though, as they prepare the food upon order.
Unexpectedly good Costa Rican food, which I have never eaten before. Come across Mamacita very often at Amoy Street food centre, but never think of trying it until today.
I don't know anything about Costa Rican food, but I must say this burrito I had for lunch was really good! It comes with generous serving of greens, and beef streaks. There was also a small side serving of white rice and mashed potato. At a price of $6.90, it's certainly value for money.
A #fried #tortilla #shell that was #superb, filled with #lots of #chicken bits, #generous #vegetable #salad and very #appetising #tomatosalsa. #mamacitas #mashedpotatoes #rice #avocadoslice #burpple #veryfull
The salad portion was huge with generous bits of tender chicken added, and the crust was yummy and not oily. #burpple
