I had my heart set on a Clam Pie (the term “pie” is interchangeable with “pizza” here) ever since I read about it while researching where to go and what to eat for my trip to New York. Since we were in the area of “America’s First Pizzeria” (that’s what they have up on their wall), @lombardis_pizza_nyc was where I ended up having it.
Only available in a 16” size, the rather thin pizza has a crisp and chewy bite, and tastes very much like a tasty garlic bread scattered with fresh herbs (basil, oregano), black pepper and Parmesan cheese got flooded by a boatload of sweet baby clams.
I really enjoyed this, especially with lashings of olive oil (they give you a bottle of it when they bring the pie out) and a generous squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
My cousin's attempt to make the pizza more healthful by adding some veggies. Ehehehhe.
The best pizza experience I've ever had. New York pizza's original.
Lombardi's in New York! About 15$. It was awesome
