BARRAMUNDI FISH AND CHIPS -
The batter was well-seasoned, providing a flavorful crunch, and the fish was thick and tender. Served with sambal tartar sauce, it adds a kick to the dish, elevating the flavors.
HEARTLAND SIGNATURE -
A unique blend of flavors, complemented by a quarter slice of pandan waffle and sweet kaya foam. The drink has a rich sweetness from the gula melaka, while the rum’s presence is distinct. The pandan waffle has a cake-like texture, compared to the usual crispy and fluffy waffle.
The beef bulgogi with bafun uni was well-seasoned, with the pickled radish balancing the rich flavors. However, the uni didn’t stand out as much as expected. The octopus with assam hummus was a surprising combination, with the hummus’ spicy kick adding an unexpected twist. Even those who don’t usually enjoy hummus would find this dish appealing. The smoked ice cream, kaya, and coffee cleverly reimagined kaya toast with a cup of coffee, especially with the addition of dark soy sauce, which added an intriguing depth. The service was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere made for a relaxing dinner experience.
if you’re working in the cbd area and looking for a nice quiet spot with good food, look no further. market bistro serves amazing steak frites, the steak is tender and juicy and delicious with the garlic butter. and duck confit is to die for, super soft and literally melts in your mouth, and the sweet potato mash is so so creamy. sharing plate i liked the most were the spicy salmon dip, easy to eat and yummy. if you’re a fan of pork crackling i’d recommend it too, very crispy. and end the meal with a choco brownie, comes with vanilla ice cream and strawberries. portions were big and we definitely left the restaurant happy and full
Tried multiple rice dumplings (favourites were the salted egg yolk & emperor rice dumpling) delivered right to my doorstep. Delivery was on time, the dumplings tasted fresh, authentic, the flavours were nuanced and lots of filling! Must try.
Dropped by Meat N Chill @ Sixth Avenue and tried the Grass Fed Ribeye steak (medium rare) with a root beer float. The steak was tender and the dressing could be customised according to your preference, I chose the shallot sauce and it tasted splendid.
The root beer float tasted as expected, and the icecream made the drink sweeter which was to my liking. Overall, would recommend. This place is a merely stone’s throw away from the MRT and is an ideal place for friends to Meat N Chill once in a while!
