Itās funny, but I didnāt actually found out about HONBO during my last trip to Hong Kong. Despite them being a popular Hong Kong burger chain, I only got to know them through their outlet at Chjimes! š
Anyway, itās been awhile since I had such a yummy and satisfying burger! The Honbo 1.5 had such juicy and flavourful smashed beef patties, that paired well with the potato milk bun. The beef to bun ratio was also really good!
The ambience here is casual and comfortable, and closer to an American diner. Not the cheapest burger, but I would say itās worth a splurge if you are on the hunt for a good quality beef burger.
Tanuki Raw has recently launched their new Blue Burger, exclusively available at their National Design Centre outlet. This burger includes a 250g hand-chopped premium wagyu beef short rib tartare patty thatās lightly seared and seasoned with Tanuki Raw's sianature spice blend, sandwiched between soft and fluffy slow-roasted Yaki Imo Milk Bread, and topped with house pickles and Emmental cheese. If you like your beef on the rarer side, this is definitely the burger for you! It is also served together with a side of Mentai Cheese Waffle Fries that are crispy and savoury! The Blue Burger is available from now till 31 Dec 2022, via pre-order on their website with a 10 days notice.
I tried Carlās Jr.ās limited-time Smokey Brisket Angus Beef Burger recently. This burger, which consists of a thick patty made with 100% Angus Beef, a generous portion of smokey brisket draped with BBQ sauce, and classic smoked American cheese, is freshly made to order, and it was pretty yummy! I liked how juicy the patty was, and the smokiness from the brisket and cheese elevated the overall flavour! You can complete your meal in the form of a combo with their natural-cut fries and a cup of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.
Oh, and if youāre not aware, their all-you-can-drink Beverage Bar and Salsa Bar are back after a 2-year hiatus. Help yourself to unlimited refills of drinks, as well as condiments like jalapeƱo and fresh salsa to pair with your burger.
Shake Shack has launched their first ever locally-inspired Sambal Mayo menu items that will be available till 15 August 2022 at all their Singapore outlets. Inspired by Nasi Lemak and Sambal Chicken, these menu items all come with a robust and spicy sambal by Batu Leseung Spice Company.

For the burgers, I personally preferred the Sambal Mayo Chicken Shack to the Sambal Mayo Burger as I felt the former was more flavourful! The Sambal Mayo Crinkle Cut Fries was also pretty good! The combo of sambal mayo sauce, bacon bits and scallions is quite addictive! And no worries if you can't handle much spice - I thought the heat in these were quite mild and manageable!
We werenāt big fans of their beef patty tbh! But we heard from the team that itās still undergoing R&D. Hopefully this means a better burger the next time weāre here! We loved the waffle fries though - really tasty and moreish.
This was really delicious! True to its name, the fried chicken thigh is THICC with 2 Cās, and it was crispy & super juicy too! Itās topped with sweet tangy slaw and a chipotle sauce for that extra heat! I will definitely return soon to enjoy this burger again!
While walking around City Square Mall, i decided to check out this relatively new burger joint and was pleasantly surprised by how good (and not to mention affordable) the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger was.
The fried chicken patty was juicy and tender, drenched in a savoury salted egg sauce and came in a generous portion too for its price. The only complaint i had was that there were very limited side dish options (the only choices were onion rings or baked japanese sweet potato).
Iāll definitely be back again if iām craving for some burgers.
