#TacoTuesday may be over but that's not stopping me from having a fun time assembling this! 🌮
First time making these at home and it's surprisingly easy! Cheated with some taco shells from Old El Paso and don't forget to squeeze in some lime for an extra zest!

This dish certainly caught our attention when it was served! The slow-roasted duck leg came wrapped in hoja santa leaves. The duck meat is tender and makes a good taco, though we preferred the other dishes that we tried. This was the only main that we ordered (shared multiple sides and dessert items) amongst 4 diners and it was quite filling. Advanced reservation is required for this authentic Mexican place!
Heard glowing reviews of this place and was excited to try. It's my first time having this dish and I'm glad I tried! If I had to draw parallels, this roasted corn dish is somewhat similar to a meatless skinny pizza. There's a burst of flavours when biting into the roasted corn kernels, quite an interesting texture too. Squeeze in the lime for an extra zest. There's also an option of adding lobster but we didn't try that. Do remember to make reservations in advance if you're visiting!
The savoury guac came with fetta cheese and roasted tortilla chips. Creamy with a nice touch of acidity from the lime. While we were couldn't pick out the exact ingredient, the savouriness of the dish was well-appreciated. Would definitely reorder this again and recommend this for anyone visiting!
Tried the famed dessert at Nixta. These churros came in a huge cyclic shape, with caramelised goat milk and chocolate sauce dipping sauces. Crumbly on the outside, light on the inside. The caramelised goat milk has a similar nostagalic taste profile as white rabbit candy. The server advised us to double dip (milk first then chocolate). Definitely one of the best churros I've had! Not to be missed 🤞
Cheesy quesadilla has always been a comfort food for me and this was no exception! This came with a generous amount of red chorizo bits and cheese that built a salty-tangy flavour for the dish. It also comes with crushed avocado and fried potatoes. Prices are a bit steep and reservation is required (at least 1 month). But deserving of a try for quality Mexican food!
