HOT POT 🍲

Tried the TikTok famous Xiao Long Kan which some claim to be better than HDL. Came with average expectations and left disappointed. The soup base here is horrible. We ordered the mala and pork broth. Pork tasted diluted, MSG filled chicken soup while the mala was extremely oily (I’d say that there was more oil than soup). That aside, beef strips, beef balls and pork were good, but other than that I found the rest of the ingredient options to be mediocre. Also, don’t come here expecting HDL standard service. Staff here are polite but they won’t treat your like royalty so manage your expectations. It’s an okay-ish hotpot place but comparing it to HDL is like comparing apples and oranges.

Tried out the recently opened FuFu Pot and unpopular opinion: it’s not really worth the hype. The food was decent but we found it to be on the pricier side. Ingredients felt rather cheap and the soup broths weren’t anything to shout about. The White Curry broth was especially disappointing and tasted more like watered-down laksa than curry. However, we wouldn’t mind coming back to try the tomato broth which seems to be one of the more popular options.

The food here isn’t spectacular and it’s honestly nothing to shout about, but its price point, especially since it’s buffet-style, makes it pretty attractive. They have a surprisingly extensive array of ingredients to choose from and while the quality isn’t as up there as HDL or Beauty in the Pot, it’s substantial enough. They have free flow xiao long bao as well, but we don’t really recommend it unless you’re a really unfussy eater. Okay, time to go back to work and stop thinking of hotpot 😞

This used to be our favourite hotpot experience but covid has since ruined the dining experience which is a shame. Quality of food is still pretty decent but if we are not wrong, they aren’t offering their buffet anymore as they aren’t allowed to operate their conveyor belt, which was one of the appeals of the place. Hope things will get better soon!! Will still visit them to support lah.

People call this the cheap mans HDL but tbh I don’t get the hype. Food is subpar, soup bases are chock full of MSG and the toys they use to bait people to eat there aren’t that cute. Would rather spend a bit more to eat at HDL or BITP.

Priced relatively affordably, they had a surprisingly wide selection of soup and ingredient options available and you can pick and choose what you like from the conveyor belt. Similar to conveyor belt sushi chains like Sushiro and Sakae Sushi, prices are marked with coloured plates. We managed to keep the bill under $20 per pax which is quite a steal!
