Like spicy - this will be the place for you. Just one mouthful - I felt the warmth fill my whole body. The spice is truly unique. But you must come and try this, the taste is different from other chicken curry that I have tasted.
My neighbourhood Hokkien prawn mee - the chilli is still super spicy so just a little bit is enough for me. It’s still great, very tasty, the prawns are still Swa lor prawns which are very strongly flavoured. Just the correct prawns for Hokkien mee.
The only disappointing thing is that they no longer have pork lard to add to the noodles to give it extra crunch. I didn’t ask why but the auntie knows I like pork lard in my noodles and if she didn’t add for me means don’t have no need to ask.
This is one of the white pepper versions or we can call it the Teochew version of BKT. They offer steamed fish as well and the steamed fish is pretty fresh you can choose what you like here. You have a big group you really need to book and reserve a seat on peak hours on weekends and public holidays or you will end up waiting a VERY VERY LONG TIME as they have regulars that have extended family meals there. Regulars also have their own teas that they keep there. Some of these teas are rather expensive
Ok I brought an overseas guest to taste this as it’s not something they have in HK.
But I feel it was missing a crunch element. Could be better, I might make this myself at home though.

You can see from this photo how thin the pancake is - it’s less than 0.8 cm per side, if we omit the part where it is lumpy - it’s probably only 0.5cm thick
For the proportion of pancake the filling is of equivalent thickness!!
Ok I ordered the peanut butter version but it also included - Peanuts!!
The orange coloured coconut happened to be part of the earlier piece I ate and I had lots of the coconut filling left. And guess what I did?
I made a Peanut butter, Peanut and coconut pancake instead!! Triple Threat!
Peanut butter - salty and sticky
Peanuts - crunchy
Coconut - sweet and juicy
Pancake to hold it all together!
Ok I strongly recommend this version because it’s got multiple layers of flavours and textures
If you like fluffy and a thinner pancake. This is the place to go!! They have all the usual fillings that traditional pancake places offer. As for the filling it’s proportion is a lot for the pancake. Every mouthful you will find it filled with filling but be warned it can be messy to eat as filling drops all over the place - on your shirt, dress, table whatever

Supposed to be a signature dish, this was quite ok, the soup stock had lots of flavour. The garnished egg omelette was purely for good looks and achieved nothing for the taste. They used small swalor prawns which gave it great flavour.
Kudos there
I would have liked to see fried shallots and more prawns to give it more protein balance to the noodles (carbs)
The pork balls were mostly pork and salty, not much taste of crab or the presence of crab. It was quite a disappointment. It’s not difficult to make because you can get pasteurised crab meat these days. It’s also supposed to have bamboo shoots but maybe there weren’t much I don’t recall.
Salty but lacked the flavour I thought it should
Have
Their lo hei was mostly made up of the preserved vegetables and pickles which made the dish overly sour. As I mainly like my Lo Hei with actual sashimi having abalone slices was kind of a disappointment. I was loading on dehydrated vegetables coated in salt and sugar. Definitely not worth the calories.
I like their down to earth & very affordable western food dishes. The spring chicken is tender and well seasoned without being too salty. Their fries also comes fresh and crispy outside and soft on the inside. Lightly salted with great taste.
They don’t use those lousy melamine plates. You get heavy duty ceramic plates here. Really solid heavy stuff.
Pls support this elderly couple. Their other yummy items include chicken chop and pork chop...both must try
