Those who works around this area should know Uncle Frankieā€™s famous $1 pancakes in his very tiny shop beside a corner Kopitiam right opposite the Chinese temple. When I dropped by previously, he was preparing a companyā€™s order about 3 huge (cake) boxes !

Whatā€™s lovely is that his pancakes are always hot - maybe because people keep buying and he keeps making them? And that peanut filling are always so GENEROUS. ā˜ŗļø

This stall specialises in kolo mee, kampua mee and yongtaufoo. While I felt the overall dish was yummy & had enough flavour to it such that I finished everything clean, I don't think it has the original kolo mee flavour nor the bouncy texture of the curly kolo noodles. But still worth it !

One of the more tedious dishes to make due to the vegetable blended soup base that comes with it. To some, it may be the vege blend soup that's the highlight, but to me, the highlight is the brown rice served with various vegetables and toppings like peanuts and taukwa. Very clean, meatless (take away the ikan bilis) and straightforward meal - a clean meal at a Kopitiam/hawker place. This vege blend included a lot of pepper which spoilt the overall taste. ):

Not regretting ordering char siew noodles over wanton noodles when the hawker asked whether I wanted wanton or not. The char siew slices were quite thick and tender, not overly dry nor oily or fatty. And they were quite generous w the meat slices. Noodles were springy and sauce was not overly salty as well. Overall it was a surprising find!

Albeit a small portion of curly springy noodles sitting in a usual fishball noodles-sized bowl, the portion is just right if you don't wanna suffer from food coma after lunch. Sufficient charsiew, fried and boiled wantons accompanied; and flavour wasn't too strong to leave a bad taste in your mouth after. Good lunch choice!

You need to wait a minimum of 30 mins for a plate of western food here.

Their homemade side dishes included caramelised onions which bring out their specialty. The most popular side dish could easily be their mushroom rice - even the mala hawker owner next door made a special request for it.

The chicken chop was really tender and well-cooked; the sauce was well-glazed over the skin and grilled to perfection. The chicken thigh was marinated just right.

What would make me return for this would be the affordable pricing and the effort put into making everything from scratch, which makes the entire plate of goodness feel and taste like home.

Having hanging out in AMK central for more than 3/4 of my life, I have never tried this YTF stall because the queue is looooong 24/7 (as long as it stays open). So I decided to try this since I was like about 6th in line.

When I was served my bowl, I was very pleasantly surprised because I actually ordered dried but they made a soup version for me. However, it was a good mistake I suppose - there was a generous serving of yellow beans & I took the first mouthful of soup.. and immediately I knew why they are so popular.

The soup was very flavourful and was dark yellow, proof that it was cooked for long hours with many ingredients. There was a slight burnt taste too. What's interesting is they also added pork lard (which was extremely fragrant, unlike the usual ones. I'm not a pork lard person, I accidentally ate it without realising.) They will also ask if you want kangkong & beansprouts on top of your chosen ingredients. I would suggest you to get some, as it adds some colour into your customised bowl of goodness.

What's better than having sinful Prata together with your best buddy on a late night for a catch up session? My buddy recommended Master Prata here at Alexandra Point and I had a plain and a plaster while she had a plain and mushroom cheese Prata.

I was caught by surprise by the wide range of flavours available on the menu! Wanted to order masala banana ($4) but in a course to save money I stuck to my usual prata menu hehe.

The plaster Prata did not disappoint - I had my flowy yolk! And the Prata itself was really crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside - the kind of Prata I love. When I collected my plate of pratas, I was glad that they were reasonably sized, if not, slightly larger than the usual pratas. Definitely will be back for more flavours woohoo.

Settled for a cheaper food option in a busy shopping mall on a Tuesday evening, but was rather disappointed with the quality of food. The Assam laksa gravy wasn't sour and spicy and nutty enough. The wonton noodles were bouncy but seemed like a flavour was lacking. The fried crispy wantons did not have a kicking flavour as would the usual Pontian wanton Mee stores.

Was craving for Thai and we were so hungry we settled here where there are plenty of good food. And I was took by surprise at how good the Thai food here was - the phad thai reminds me of my days in NP where I had Thai food almost every day. Green curry was on point and both dishes were served hot to the table. The rice was fragrant too. So worth the money and didn't disappoint my cravings !

After I ordered, the turnout of the mee goreng surprised me - it wasn't what I had expected - the reddish Mee goreng that we're often used to. It was just yellow noodles tossed in tom yam sauce, which was honestly quite disappointing. However when she started chopping the chicken leg that she freshly took out and put on my plate of Mee goreng, I was pleasantly surprised cos I wasn't expecting the chicken to come along.

While the Mee goreng was disappointing, the chicken leg saved the entire dish. The chicken was really tender as the meat could easily be pulled out from the bones cleanly, and the flavour of the marination wasn't too salty. I usually skip the chicken skin but this was goooood. Though it wasn't crispy but it was flavourful. Thumbs up for the chix hehe šŸ‘šŸ½

It's seemingly difficult to find these prices for this taste already... but yas! Nestled in cosy Toa Payoh is a famous carrot cake stall with their sambal chilli slathered over the pieces of carrot cake. Not too salty even with the caipor pieces within and the ratio was just nicešŸ‘ŒšŸ½. Yumz do drop by for a taste of home!

Other than eating, it's me being hungry.
