Non-processed kolo noodles made of duck egg with no preservative added. The noodles were well done to a springy texture before being tossed in fragrant scallion oil, lard and speciality homemade chilli sauce. Mix them all up and you will get fragrant, al-dente noodles with a nice bite and chew. Each portion came with a generous amount of fried wonton, boiled wonton, char siew, minced meat and fried shallots 》$4
I’m a big fan of kolo mee, and one of my favourite stalls in Amoy Street Food Centre is Jin’s Noodle, which serves up a hearty bowl of Sarawak Kolo Mee ($4). The springy kolo mee is tossed in a fragrant concoction of lard and chilli. Each bowl comes with char siew, fried wanton, boiled wonton and a dash of fried shallots. The portion is generous and the young bosses are very amiable:) This never fail to perk me up whenever I’m in need for comfort food!
Albeit a small portion of curly springy noodles sitting in a usual fishball noodles-sized bowl, the portion is just right if you don't wanna suffer from food coma after lunch. Sufficient charsiew, fried and boiled wantons accompanied; and flavour wasn't too strong to leave a bad taste in your mouth after. Good lunch choice!
You will never tired of Sarawak Kolo Mee with it’s texture of the noodle. This stall at Amoy Street Hawker Centre selling a pretty decent kolo mee in this neighbourhood. $5
Came closed to their closing time and they ran out of char siew so they replaced it with fried chicken. Nothing impressive about this dish though I do like their chilli, which gave the dish a lot more flavour.
Apart from its extremely red color bowl, Char Siew, steam and fried wantons are served along with it! Quite delicious I would say!
