✔️Good serving portions for hungry appetites
✔️1-for-1 for house-pour wines ($12) on weekdays
✔️Good range of menu options: mains, pizza and pasta

We chanced upon this restaurant as we were randomly walking around Jem looking for a non-crowded place to dine at. The food was pretty ok; the pasta and sauce were tasty but found my seabass ($16.95) slightly dry. My dinner date had the Margarita ($18.95) and he seems to quite enjoy it. For dessert we had a nice slab of warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice-cream and drizzled chocolate fudge ($6.95), basically a combination that was difficult to go wrong. 😋

Stumbled upon this place while driving around the area. Love the humble homely vibe of this place. The seafood pasta was cooked in a garlic butter sauce, rich and filled with a really generous amount of prawns, clams and sausage. The paella was well-cooked and flavourful too; lots of seafood and feels like it'll be a really great comfort food. The pork cheeks were the waiter's recommendations; meat was soft and juicy and had a crispy exterior but personally found it way too fatty for my liking though. Overall, lovely ambience so I'll definitely be back again!

I can always come to Hot Tomato for a super value-for-money meal of decent portions. Went for grilled buttered dory that came with a huge wedge of lemon. Nicely cooked but found the crispy edges of the fish way too salty. The pasta was pretty garlicky and flavourful too. I'd say it's worth it for $10.90.

A warm soupy bowl of spaghetti with a generous amount of clams. Incredibly affordable for a decent portion too. The refillable drinks counter was pretty cool too. The baked rice dishes and bacon-cheese appetiser were pretty meh though; the portion was way too small. Had to queue on a weekday dinner but luckily wasn't a long wait for a table for 3!

The star of this dish has to be the noodles (and not the giant prawns which are also not pictured here). The linguine is incredibly umami and peppery, with bits of prawn meat and salmon roe in the pasta mix so you bits of seafood in each bite. The two prawns that came with it were huge and fresh too, just cooked slightly tough. The portion was pretty big too so definitely worth the price.

New on a menu is this variation of their Tom Yum seafood pasta. The dish ($14.90) was really tasty but found it a little too salty especially towards the end. The dry morsels of crabmeat sitting on TOP of the dish were just meh though. The sauce was cooked with Chilli padi so it's great for spicy lovers (like myself!). No queue and food was served pretty quick so will recommend if looking for a chilled out place in town and a quick meal!

Ordered my usual favourite Tartufo E Funghi again and shared a side of sweet potato fries. Fries were pretty good; slightly charred with a subtle burnt taste and tasted great with the chilli sauce dip. And these fries are thinly cut (unlike the truffle one) so find myself munching on them non-stop. 🍟

Had a nice change from the usual packed food for lunch today because lunch treat from the boss today. Situated in the industrial Tuas area, this cafe is definitely one of the fanciest in this area and was packed during lunch time so reservation is definitely needed. My spaghetti was simply cooked with fresh vegetables, olives and a little parmesan but tasty nonetheless. And paired with fresh starfruit juice for a light and healthy meal. 😁

Back at Brio for their cream truffle infused mushroom pasta (can't get enough of truffle 👅). Tried their Sweet Potato Fries with salted egg yolk dip, and it's pretty good but I'm not a fan of the dip, which doesn't taste much like salted egg yolk imo ($8.50).
