Previously at Centrepoint, this restaurant has been around for yooonnnkkks, for good reason. The food is good and it is among the first in Singapore to offer authentic Hong Kong cuisine.

I've had my favorite congee which didn't disappoint. Smooth tasty congee in a big bowl, sufficient to keep you full till the next meal. Mix it around as the lean pork and century egg slices are at the bottom of the bowl. Good, simple comfort food.

Went to have this as I received an enthusiastic recommendation of it. It costs $7.90 and comes in the big bowl. Portion is great! I was starving and this filled me up real good.

MIx everything up with the noodles at the bottom. Noodles are springy and smooth; I was slurping it up like there was no tomorrow. Ingredients are plentiful and you get this feeling that you're eating healthily.

The noodles come with a bowl of soup and an appetizer. Very value-for-money and satisfying. 4/5

Fantastic dish. Teriyaki chicken was tasty and came together with the soba to form a relatively light but satisfying dinner. $8.00 and 4/5.

My usual "Phoenix" dish was not available at WHEAT, so I chose "Whale". It was prepared extremely fast and came in an unexpectedly huge serving (this, comparing with the known "Phoenix" serving)! Has it always been this big for "Whale" or was it my lucky day? Anyway. The taste for this is rather strong (mushrooms and dark sauce). It is not a bad thing; just not light like "Phoenix". Ingredients were plentiful. They were flexible and gave me my green soba instead of the standard rice/rice noodles. Free and free-flow chilled lemon water. All for $7.80. 3.9/5

If you, like me, find salad generally too costly in Singapore, you might like this gem from... Cold Storage. For just $4.95, you get to choose a base (I Iike the baby spinach), 3 toppings, free nuts and raisins, and a dressing (out of 8 different types) of your choice. Meat comes at an additional $1-$2. Serving is big and sufficient to keep you going until your next meal. 4.1/5
