Cafes At Bugis
🍽: Baamee haeng cha kang rao

Price: $7.90

📍: 2 Tan Quee Lan Street #01-02

Located in a quieter part of Bugis, Kin Moo welcome their customer with a simple, clean and great hospitality like how the Thais greet their visitors. •
Specialised for their Thai boat/wanton mee, Baamee haeng is actually a noodle dish that is served without soup stock and then filled with minced pork, pork ribs, peanuts, dried shrimps, garlic, and a generous serving of lard. With all the condiments mixed, the whole dish was exploding with flavours, especially when you bite into that freshly fried lard. The noodles were al-dente, which was totally enjoyable biting it. •
However, the dish was a little dry, but this could be solved by drizzling soup onto the noodles. The soup not only makes this dish more delightedly, it also adds a hint of sweetness to the dish as well.
🍽: Spicy Chilli Crab Tendon

This is a fusion between a Japanese tendon with a local twist of our favourite chilli crab sauce. Located at Ramen Champion Bugis+, Japanese cuisine fans are able to grab a variety of ramen and don from various shops under one roof.
•
The Spicy chilli Crab Tendon was indeed unique. Besides giving you the sweet tempura sauce, your don was covered with Spicy chilli crab, however, I find that the sauce was lacked flavour and it was too little. As for the tempura components, compared to their counterpart. Don Meijin still have much to achieve, it did not have the light battered thus making me feel a bit gerlat after finishing it.
•
But still, if you are looking for something unique, do give it a go! At least, here there is no long waiting time. Do remember to request for the separation of sauce, if you want your tempera to remain crispy.
🍽: Hojicha soft served

Price: $8.50

📍: 753 North Bridge Road #01-01

Dreading for this soft served ice cream while queuing for Lim Chee Guan. I must preserve!
•
This is actually pretty smooth with a slight hint of hojicha. Not forgetting those brownies which were chunky and not dry all.
•
However, I do hope they would strengthen the hojicha flavour. That would be just perfect for me.
🍽: Pha Thai, kangkong and omelette

Previously located in Shaw tower, ah loy Thai have shifted to its new current location, along the streets of Bugis.
•
Upon entering, you are unknowing transported to a humble Thai shop. Where they served simple yet comfort Thai food. One of highlight dishes was the omelette. It was huge. It could even cover my entire face. Although it may seem a bit oily, but it had a strong wok flavour to it. The Kang Kong had the extra crunchy texture with added spiciness.
•
However the pha Thai did not fair well as it was lacking in flavour. It could be also why everybody around me was ordering pineapple rice instead.
•
Overall, I had an enjoyable time without making a hole in my wallet at ah Loy Thai. I definitely will be back to try more of their menu.

Craving for a good breakfast, so action speaks louder than words. So here am I!
•
The kale chips are the best . Its flavour was not too salty and when you start sinking into it, you could hear the crunchy texture in your head. Let's not forget about the bacon, it's texture and flavour was well balanced. As for the rest, they were decent, but nothing memorable.
•
Overall, I wish the scramble egg and the Hollandaise sauce could stood out but they did not. Maybe the big breakfast besides me would fair better?

Tuck away from the bustling streets of Bugis, artistry offers a much quieter place to enjoy a quiet bunch with your love ones and friends. Artistry is somehow unique in the way that, it offers both food and art under one roof.
•
The star of this dish was the homemade Chili sauce, it was flavourful, tasting both sweet and spicy at the same time. Just give me a bowl of plain rice and it's enough. As for the crab patty, it's fillings was stuffed with lots of crab. However, it is a little dry to eat on its own. It was the same for the fries. As such, my sauce was soon liberated... 😭
•
Overall, this dish contains its own unique taste, especially for the Chili sauce. It is different from the ones you tried at any seafood restaurant. I finished every last drop of it.
•

Sawadeecrap! Thai boat noodles are entering into Singapore. Boat noodles originated in Thailand, where paddles served in small bowls to customers so as to not spill scalding themselves. This is noodles story second outlet beside the one at golden mile
•
You are able to customise your noodles from what type of meats, what size you want, type of noodles, taste of your base and finally the level of spiciness. It's like stepping into a Japanese ramen shop, where you can fully customise your ramen. •
Their glass noodles are a bit different, it's like flat noodles but it's transparent. The texture was slightly hard, the soup does have the umami flavour, but I hope it has a more flavour. The beef brisket was slightly chewy and not too tough, however, there was too little! I want more! •
Overall, I would say they do serve decent Thai boat noodles and for Thai, they do know how to make shiok spiciness. It makes me want to travel to Bangkok now.

What is going to a Thai place without trying their Tom yum dishes. Don't let this bowl of magi looking like noodle fool you.
•
The noodles actually look like our Chinese version of Mee Kia. The the egg noodles were springy and it is al-dente. With the addition of the half cooked egg, it enhances the flavour of the soup, making it spicy, sweet and a little sour to tangly those taste buds. Try asking for more nuts. It will stick on the noodles, giving it a crunchy texture

Famous for their spicy Chili. Yi ji Hokkien mee have franchise itself into several outlets.
•
The Chili was pretty much authoritative. It will not hit you during the first mouthful, but the spiciness will slowly creep up. Damn, I should have listen to the Uncle. 🔥🔥🔥
•
As for the broth, I think it's lack of depth. Maybe the Uncle should have cooked the broth a little longer. It was a pity as the noodle and bee Hoon had been just the right ratio.
•
Ps. Maybe I should visit their outlet in Hougang ?
Price: $12 + $3

Located underneath a quiet office building, thus making it an ideal for dates or just a chill out with Friends.
•
As for the food, When the Donburi came, I could smell the fragrance of truffle. The truffle is mixed with the Hon Shimeiji Mushroom therefore giving it a chewy texture. The tare marinated Rib eye was sweet and when mixed with the mushroom... It was just delicious! I even wanted to order a second bowl!
•
The 72 degree Onsen Tamago was an extra bonus. I mixed the egg with my rib eye, making it so smooth as if it could slip down my throat. I also believe the egg further enhances the sweetness of the beef. 😋
•
Overall, I had a great experience at the refinery. I will definitely be back to try their brunch and lunch menu too.
