Very juicy, very tender, very flavorful. The duck was extremely well marinated, and had a deep umami-ish herbal flavor with each bite. Apparently it takes 1 day to prepare so let them know in advance! 2 Michelin stars for a reason man. -

This dish is amazing; served cold, the scallops are 'high grade sashimi' fresh and the homemade pasta is made al dente. The truffle flavour is really strong, can seem a tad overwhelming, but I enjoyed it. 1 portion is really big and probably too gelat so request it to be served in 2 portions which was what I did. This item is off the menu, and additional servings of Uni and Truffle Shavings can be added subject to availability and the size of your pocket 😬

If you're looking for a place to impress your clients, Kai Garden is a place to consider with its attention to detail in the presentation of each dish. E.g. The Peking duck has 5 diff colored bowls of sauces to choose from.

This charcoal pork bun is basically a "Xiao Long Bao" with a charcoal bun as the exterior; a mouthful would reveal broth and pork hidden in its core. Looked gimmicky, but was surprisingly good. Worth a try if you have the cash to spare; the dimsum here don't come cheap. -

Pretty looking pork dumplings! Tastes slightly better than normal siew mai with generous pork and prawns. I guess you're paying a bit more for the presentation of this dish.

Full name on menu: Fregola Al Frutti Di Mare

This type of pasta is only found in this small Italian island called Sardinia. You can only find this here at Alkaff Mansion because the executive chef is from there and imports them in! Very nice texture which complemented well with the seafood. Words escape me how I could better describe this, but the small size of the pasta also adds to the ease of consuming the sauce and the seafood a real delicate mouthful.

The Lobster Linguine ($42++) was nice too but there was hardly any lobster.
For a nice main, go for the Sardinian Suckling Pig ($46++) where the meat rolls off your knife, exploding with the crispy skin, succulent fat and juicy meat.

Full name on menu: Filetto Di Tonno Al Sesame Con Salsa Balsamica E Arancia

Really nicely decorated portion but more than that, this Italian version of Aburi Tuna was done really nicely. I really like how the sesame coating garnished the half cooked tuna with its light roasted flavor. Half serving was coated with black sesame and the other with white sesame; I prefer the black one because of the stronger flavor. Consistency of the seared tuna was a bit lacking as some pieces were a bit too raw and resulted in it being a bit too chewy. Nonetheless, this was a fine appetizer.

The best dish of the night - with the cheese coming in the form of both a thick, viscous cream base and a crispy outer layer of crust, the flavours were balanced very well with some garnished salt which prevented the cheese from being overpowering. The pasta used was springy yet firm enough to be jabbed with a fork. Overall, the flavours for this dish made it to be very tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But perhaps not so much the price :/

I'm not sure what Kalbi is; if it's sticky and chewy slime that tastes like burnt BBQ remains, then yes I had it. I really like the sautéed broccoli which was slightly smoked and extremely crunchy, and the mash was really thick and creamy. But seriously, I didn't order broccoli and mash.

Bland, without a taste of truffle. Requested for more shaved Parmesan but that wasn't enough to improve the taste. I guess it tasted healthy and it was consumed fast cause we were all hungry.

Here for Senso's Sunday Prosecco Brunch. Zooming in on this lamb rack because it's the best lamb rack I have tasted in my life. As an ala carte order under the 'mains', it is half the size of the usual lamb rack, which makes it easy to eat. The meat was soft, tender, and flavorful. It did not give off a strong 'lamb taste' that usually needs to be drowned in mustard or peppermint jelly; this lamb had the texture of a nicely done ribeye steak - immaculate. My dad, a hardcore lamb lover, ordered 4 portions. Definitely worth a try despite its steep pricing. But if you want the free flow alcohol, this would be a good option.

The bill was made lighter by the Entertainer 1-for-1 Sunday Prosecco Brunch voucher.

I would like to specially commend the service here at Senso - it is simply amazing. My mom is on a diet and did not want to have the full buffet and requested for a single order of side salad. Not only did the chef prepare it, but the bill for that salad (which had leaves and beef slices) came up to 10 dollars. I was floored. The service throughout the meal was also impeccable, as the staff explained to me the difference between Prosecco and Champagne, and placed a stool next to my mom for her bag which was initially resting on the floor. Definitely a great place for date night, business meetings, or an upper class hangout.

On request, I asked for my sushi to be done aburi style (i.e. half cooked). As far as I can remember there was salmon, maguro, scallop, ika, mackerel, and prawn. I love Japanese food so perhaps I should brush up on my knowledge of fish. Anyhow, the aburi sushi pieces were done really nicely; each piece had the smokiness that comes with grilling the fish, yet it leaves room for the freshness of the raw meat to come out. The chef drizzled the sushi with his maki soya sauce which leaned toward the sweeter side. Wasabi put in between the rice and the fish was just right. The set comes with chawamushi and miso soup as well but I was too eager and couldn't wait to eat my sushi. Don't be fooled by the portion - even though it looks quite light, I was reasonably full after consuming these dainty pieces of fish and rice. Perhaps altogether, the rice actually adds up to about 1 bowl. 

The omakase set costs between 80-120, a pretty reasonable price for a full-on Japanese meal.
