My favorite of them all! The sauce is so tasty and addictive!
$80++. Sri Lankan crab, 300g prawns, 250g clams, potatoes, corn, sausages (so-so). Chose the dancing crab signature sauce (mild but it was the right amount of spicy for me), which was basically tomato based. The seafood was quite fresh, and my very messy 2h dinner (despite the hard work eating the crab) turned out pretty fun eating from the table. Corn bread ($5) wasn't good - like a bad version of Kenny Rogers' corn muffin, too dry too hard.
At this humble spot along Casuarina, you might just find some of the best crabs (at a really reasonable price) in Singapore. Butter crab, chili crab, pepper crab - take your pick. Also order the Hot Plate Beancurd and the La-la! Great for a satisfying meal with a bunch of friends you haven't seen in a while.
Mellben needs no introduction to all crab lovers. The crab bee hoon has addictively rich, creamy sauce that keeps people coming back for more, despite the insanely long queues. Besides the excellent crab, go for the Salted Egg Pork Ribs, and Salad You Tiao. Don't forget to order some greens to balance this meal ;) Make reservations ahead of time to avoid queuing for 2 hours!
Flavoursomely savoury and most of the time, fierily spicy! Curry is, by and large, one of the most well- known and well-loved flavour all over the world. Each culture has its own hallmark recipe, most often laden with coconut milk, spices, and local herbs, and each claims supremacy over the rest.
Needless to say, the Thai-Teochews hold that their version of curry leads the unspoken race, thanks to the good knowledge of their local produce, the clever use of Thai basil leaves, small green and red chilies, coriander, kaffir lime leaves, raw palm sugar, and coconut milk, and their Yaowarat style of cooking.
