When it comes to soups, we're darn picky, but Joyden's signature sliced grouper fillet soup has won us over. Heartwarmingly comforting, this soup extracts the natural sweetness from the fishāfirst blanched before flash frying to get that beautiful crisp exterior, combined with pine mushrooms, black fungus and wolfberries in rice wine to birth a well-balanced, robust broth. Also amazing is the braised pork ribs in aged mandarin peel sauce. Hands down the best Chinese styled ribs we've had. Stay tuned to read the review on GourmetAdventures.net.
Absolutely love this soup! Go try it but dun finish all OK? Leave some for me! :-D
Also not forgetting that the lean meat is braised till so soft that it breaks off from the rib bone easily; easy to eat for spoilt kids like me.
Seems like the long journey to HillV2 was worthwhile after all.

When the intoxicating aroma of the Superior Stock Clam Bee Hoon ($14/21/28) preceded its entrance at our table, I knew then, that it was going to be stellar. Boozy kick aside, the Chinese cooking wine also gave the dish more body and character, gradually mellowing into a delicate sweetness, thanks to the abundance of fresh la la clams and smattering of goji berries that adorned those silky braised rice noodles.
Gan Xiang crab vs salted egg crab. Gan Xiang is a special sauce made by the head chef, it is made of 30 ingredients including 2 types of curry and ppl that know it is sworn to secrecy. It is a mean sauce that is peppery and spicy. As for the salted egg yolk sauce, there is enough oomph and you can really taste the salted egg distinctly. Gan Xiang crab definitely wins in term of uniqueness but salted egg yolk crab would win on tastiness.
Very impressed by the quality and affordability of the food here. Definitely worth waking up for on a lazy Saturday!
Served with wasabi sprouts, asian slaw, over roasted tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, crunchy pickled lotus root & soft centred egg.
This was the best out of the three mains that we've tried. I'm thinking of it now as I type. Sooooo gooodddd!!!
