One of the best lobster bisques we’ve had—lusciously creamy with a hint of smoky brandy, its partner in crime; handmade ravioli stuffed with chunks of fresh lobster meat. The mere thought of it sets my heart aflame.

When it comes to soups, we're darn picky, but Joyden's signature sliced grouper fillet soup has won us over. Heartwarmingly comforting, this soup extracts the natural sweetness from the fish—first blanched before flash frying to get that beautiful crisp exterior, combined with pine mushrooms, black fungus and wolfberries in rice wine to birth a well-balanced, robust broth. Also amazing is the braised pork ribs in aged mandarin peel sauce. Hands down the best Chinese styled ribs we've had. Stay tuned to read the review on GourmetAdventures.net.

It's rare to find double-boiled soups at hawker centers these days, lest one that tastes so flavorful. One of our favorite stalls in the neighborhood for delicious and incredibly value-for-money (the portions are extremely generous!) double-boiled soups, Soup #01-36 at the famous Commonwealth Crescent Market offers 10 different soups on a daily basis including watercress, bone marrow, si chuan vegetable, lotus root, and bitter gourd soup (all $3.50 each).

The broth was light and watered down; probably due to the lack of fish used to simmer the stew (only seabass was used), tasting more of a seafood broth—prawn, scallops and squid, garnished with a sprig of baby fennel.

An incredibly tasty potato essence broth w petite cubes of tender Black Angus beef and bone marrow, served from a French press. Lovely!
