Still felt a tad too sweet.
Egg still crispy.
Still quite a decent carrot cake.
Next time will get the white one instead
Owner is partially deaf so the order is made by pointing to pictures. Pretty good. And I do discern a difference when there’s little or no queue - presumably owner could spend more TLC time pan-frying to have more crisp. Ordered a medium $6 plate here. Prices start at $5.

The owner may be deaf, but the food speaks for itself! Be prepared to point at the menu and get ready to be impressed by their skills. We got the Mixed Carrot Cake ($6) and this dish has everything going for it - the wok hei, the crisp texture, and the delicious eggy flavour. It's neatly and flatly served, topped with a sprinkle of pepper and spring onion, and has just the right amount of spiciness to bring out more flavour. And if you can't decide between the black and white ones, why not get both? One is sweet, while the other is savoury - the perfect balance of flavours!
I personally like my carrot cake sweet with charred hints and this dish checks both boxes. Love that it’s not over filled with egg batter as well. Reco to try this stall if you’re in Zion - very easy to spot with the long queue

A very popular stall and among my favourites, now in its 2nd generation from its establishment in the 1960s.
.
Hawker Peter Goh and wife are hearing-impaired, and the innovative way they take orders through pictures and clear signages is efficient, moving the queue quickly.
.
The white version is appealing with a slightly crispy edge, good amount of egg holding the soft moist carrot cake together, and an enticing savoury salty spice sweet eggy flavour.
.
The black version is delicious with small crispy bits within, good amount of wispy egg mixed with the soft moist carrot cake, and an addictive sweet savoury spice salty eggy flavour.

The waiting time is quite long here at lau goh.
I found that the black carrot cake was a tad too sweet. The white carrot cake had a slight crisp.
This is quite good though, waited another 30mins to dabao home for the wife
Take note: the shop assistant seems to be a little hard of hearing. So do proceed forward to the ordering counter to point out which item u wish to order.
