πΏ Kangkong Stirfried with Sambal ($24++ for medium). Another crowd fave. Sambal is not too strong, you can it eat by itself
Went for their Clawsome Christmas promotion. Despite the covid situation, the restaurant was still fully booked that night. The crab was very fresh, meaty and sweet. However, the gravy was a bit watered down. Would prefer it to be more spicy. But its still shiok to dip the fried mantou in. We had the alaskan crab cooked in 3 ways - chilli, salted egg and steamed with wine. Plus a steamed live seabass and stir fry greens. Highly satisfying meal.
Pretty refreshing as it was neither too citrusy nor too sweet. Can really taste the bursts of fruits as well.
Jumbo's chili crab sauce has really been toned down over the years to accommodate to the tourists taste buds but it's still as flavourful no doubt. The consistency is perfect and it's drinkable to a certain extent (if dipping mantous werent enough). Crab meat was fresh and sweet but it's slightly small today, make sure to come early during each service for the fattest crabs.
Usually I only review about the food but here's a huge shout out to the female manager who was super nice after we told her about the small crabs. She told us to come early next time, offered us a dessert and even gave us her contact so we can reserve bigger crabs directly with her next time. Really improved the experience drastically, and in stark contrast to the male waiter who frankly seems disinterested and was terse
Rather fluffy and with a crisp outer layer, jumbo's mantous have been my baseline for comparing other establishment's mantous to, and for good reason
Was here for chilli crab with friends visiting Singapore. It is not bad but a bit pricey. The crab ($88) is suitable for 1-2 person which we were advised to have one more crab. We didnβt cause we enjoyed the mantou more than the crab!
