Pre-steaming/blanching the crabs before finishing it on the grill (sprinkled with that crack salt) may result in not super juicy crabs, but the ridiculous amount of roe more than made up for it.
don't be fooled by the lack thereof, the red hard shell is actually salt and spices rubbed all over 3427 times. you then want to pick off the shells with your fingers brusquely and coat them liberally with the salty concoction before pinching the sweetest crab flesh with roe aplenty. by design and chance, the explosive culmination of dead salty and sea sweetness in your mouth shocks you momentarily and leaves in a state of blank and ecstasy. you helplessly proceed to repeat all proceedings, prolonged and more physical, licking clean your fingers like a cat at its paws and pursing your lips continously like a dying man at a desert. experience this at a phone call away; Yang Jun at 9127 9846 ($48 onwards, seasonal price).
Slurp slurp! Omg, one of the juiciest, biggest crabs I've had in recent times. And ALL DAT ROE π. Ridonkculous!
Simply seasoned in what we termed 'crack salt', it was peppery, salty and all around good licking, especially alternating between the sweet crab flesh and licking the MSG off your lips. π π¦π¦
Surprisingly, they even have other awesome BBQ items like squid and satay (which we ordered another round of cause it was just that shiok!). Call Yang Jun (9127 9846) before heading down if you're having the crab withdrawals and need to get your fix! π€€
Looks like the secret's out. Absolutely in love with this humble coffeeshop stall that bangs out salt-n-pepper crabs, sotong, prawns and EPIC pork satay. Just call or text the number and reserve your crabs. No frills, pure sweet goodness, just go get it.
