idk why everyone says the taste and texture of frog is like chicken; it DOESN’T. anyway loved the dry chili bull frog ($22/5 frogs) but a lil too salty on its own. so we ate it with porridge ($3) that was HELLA VISCOUS but thinned once mixed with the gongbao sauce. the meat came off the bone cleanly & the sauce was really spicy! ALSO i’ve never had dried chilli like the ones here…it had this pleasant herbal fragrance🌿
3.25⭐ Impromtu Friday date night at G7 Sin Ma. We havent return for very long and WB suggested frog porridge for dinner. We order buy 3 free 2 frogs, having 2 non spicy and the rest spicy. Well, I remembered the porridge used to be complimentary or did I remembered wrongly? The claypot porridge is $3 now and the portion used to be a lot but it only feed 5 bowls now.

Frog leg with ginger and onion (buy 2 get 1 free @ $16)
It's sold at 1 for $8, so getting 3 for $16 sounds like a good deal, but can only choose one flavour and we went for the ginger and onion one (姜葱) versus the dry chilli one (宫保).
It's not bad in terms of taste and texture and it's also served bubbling so it's warm and good, but it's also not extraordinary. Will go again if around that area.
Had frog leg porridge with dry chilli for dinner, and ordered 3 frogs for $16! I think this serving is just right for 2 pax, although the staff will always encourage you to order 5 frogs for $22 instead. Preferred the spicy over the non-spicy version (spring onions), and the spice level is quite bearable for those who are wondering.
You have to pay an additional $3 for a bowl of claypot porridge, which is much more expensive than a bowl of rice ($1). However, I still went for the porridge as I am used to eating frogs with porridge.
First time trying frog porridge and I must agree that it does taste like chicken, only a lot bonier!!
For 2 people we were recommended 5 frogs split between two flavours - dry chilli & ginger and spring onion. We preferred the dry chilli one but I liked the ginger and spring onion one too because it was sweeter, though it could get a little bit jelat after awhile. The porridge ($3 per pot) here has a really comforting taste, although it was very very thick and filling, we could not finish a pot between two people.
💸: $8
💬: There was a diesel smell to it which was kind of a turn off 🥴🥴, the egg was yummy despite being on the oilier side, and came with quite a bit of prawns
