Hailing all the way from Malaysia, this much acclaimed Fried Porridge has warmed the hearts of many and slowly gaining more followers here. At just $6 for the smallest portion that's fit for 2 pax, this is definitely one affordable meal that contains a chock full of ingredients such as shredded cuttlefish, lean meat, pork lard and spring onion.
The rice porridge and ingredients are first stir fried on a wok before the chef transfers it into a claypot. By frying it under high heat, it creates a certain wok hei in the porridge, resulting in an aromatic dish that is not commonly seen in Singapore. For fans of this place, please note that their last day of operation at their current location will be on 21 Feb and they will be shifting to their new premise at Jalan Besar thereafter.

Read about this a week ago and I just had to try it. Somehow fried doesn't sound right with porridge. For those who have tried yam porridge, I would said it's similar. Imagine having baby food....sticky, fragrant, gooey...food so fine! Well fine as in it's like a paste....fine also means it's not bad. Worth a try. Tastiness: 3/5
Interesting porridge unlike what we are used too. Visit www.theaugbunnies.blogspot.com for in depth review
A Malaysian dish..One of it's kind in Singapore!! Super comfort food, especially on a rainy day. Total gooey goodness.!! Shiok.!!
I had rather different expectations in my head but i am glad i dropped by!!! It was pretty cool and the guy was very friendly and even came to ask us about the taste and all, inviting us to come again and asked how we found abt this place. The porridge was packed w seafood and other stuff, so it's really flavourful and good comfort food, esp for a rainy day. :) parking spaces are kinda scarce so plan in advance!
It is infused with chives crab and squid for an extra punch of natural sweetness, and fried in wok at the last bit to make it less gooey and starchy. The resultant porridge is therefore easier to go down the oesophagus with its smoother lubricating grains. Who wants some at this time of the day? Hehe :)
