My reaction was more like chicken renDAMN, that’s surprisingly good for airport food. Located in the food court of Changi Airport Terminal 4, Home Kitchen serves up decent nasi lemak sets with your usual variations of fish fillet, chicken wing, etc.
The chicken was tender and covered in a respectably aromatic and creamy rendang sauce, whilst elsewhere, the chilli sambal was of your garden variety sweet and spicy type. Not bad at all.
Taste: 3/5
PSA got one staff always bochup and keep giving normal Broth instead of the laksa Broth. Make sure u remind her again before it's served else more likely than not u not getting laksa broth
Nothing special, but the laksa Broth was mellow and sweet, very drinkable. Not that bad
Pork Rib was had the profound and familiar porkiness that some places have as well, idk what they do im guessing it's some sort of brining. Could be more tender though
The sauce had all the makings of a lip-smacking rendition, with Spring Onion oil and soy sauce, unfortunately it really smelled much better than it tastes. The chili was q lacking as well, being spicy and sour but doesnt rlly add much flavours.
Dont order the kway teow here as it was so limp despite eating it within 2 mins of taking away.
Broth was decent, rather sweet but nothing to shout about either
Overall, despite all the bashing, it's still an above average bowl. But for 7bucks, it's too much
I Gotta say the Hokkien mee was rlly not bad. Flavourful Stock, slightly wet, and there's some wok hei. Pork belly was esp impressive. The only element that fell short was the chili with a strong taste, what i would describe as tangy bitterness
From the nasi lemak stall
Chicken was tender and the curry was bomb. Really complex and goes well with the rice, even though it's not super intense. Chili was really sweet so didnt feel it's too special.
P. S. I swopped the Fish for the veggies
Mini Wok
This dish cost $7. I guess its worth the money having salted egg in airport... The salted egg is creamy based and goes very well with the rice.
If you are a taxi driver or private hirer, you get 30% do try out their salted egg.. Definitely can try
