Fishball, meatball, fish cake and minced meat on a bed of springy noodles. The noodles are cooked al-dente and tossed in lightly flavoured sauce and chilli. They were generous with the amount of minced meat and fish cake served 》$4.50 / Large

Like their fried carrot cake as they are always generous with their eggs and dark sweet soy sauce. This is the $3 portion, which we think is quite a lot compared to elsewhere! Previously we found that they can be inconsistent at times especially when there are a lot of customers, but this time it was great :) The "charredness" is just right!

We always get a plate of fried oyster from the Bedok 85 Fried Oyster stall, which is near the front of the hawker centre (near the bus stop). You won't miss it because the shop takes up at least two adjacent stalls and you will always see a long queue of people in front of the shop waiting for their takeaway orders! What we like about the fried oyster from this shop is that the pieces of flour are fried until they are really crispy on the outside, and still retain a slight chewy texture on the inside. In our view, this is much better than many stalls which served fried oyster with many pieces of flour without a crispy exterior.

The fried oyster here also comes with a pretty great chilli sauce that goes well with both the oysters and the flour so do be sure to ask the stall for more chilli if you like it, because our experience is that one saucer of chilli usually isn't enough. Oysters are pretty generous as well and for the $6 serving, you can expect around 6 to 8 oysters in your plate.

The queue for fried oyster can be pretty long as well so do be prepared to wait for around 15 minutes after ordering, especially on a weekend!

This is the legendary BCM stall that we will order from every single time we dine at Bedok 85! Do note that the dish differs from the usual BCM that you see in Singapore, which is a dry bowl of noodles. Xing Ji serves the soup version and the do not be deceived by the innocuous-looking bowl of noodles as the soup is full of porky goodness! The $3 dish also comes with a generous serving of Mee kia, along with 5 meatballs and some scattered minced pork in the soup. We also always get the cut red chilli because the slight spice gives the soup even more flavour!

For those of you thinking whether to order from Xing Ji or Seng Hiang (the stall on the right of it), the BCM from both stalls do not taste that much different. However, Seng Hiang gives a lot more minced park in the soup, although we hear that their noodles are slightly more soggy and also tend to have the slight alkaline taste! Nonetheless, both stalls are really popular and you may need to wait for 30 to 45 minutes for your noodles to be delivered, especially on weekends!
