Been eating here since I was in my 20s. This place together with a couple of others are really the institutions that brought to life prawn noodles with big prawns.
But each time I come, the price seems to have gone up some more. My usual medium portion is now $9.50 as opposed to my last visit when it was $8.80.
Today again I ordered pork ribs / pig tail bee hoon/ mee combination, dry with chilli sauce. Cannot help but compare with my bowl of $6.50 pork rib / pig tail noodle yesterday. This place probably has more ribs and tail. The chilli sauce also has slightly more flavour. Meat wise, both serves ribs and tail with tender meat that comes off the bone easily. The soup is equally good, it exudes lots of prawn flavour. But today I find that their ribs is slightly more dry and chewy than usual.
Also must order their Ngoh Hiang. Always nice to have something to nibble on before the star, prawn noodles, arrives.
Perhaps the price will reach a point when I think the value of no longer there. I hope not. But until then, I will occasionally come and support them.
Very crowded on a late sat noon 3pm+ onwards. Tried their jumbo signature prawn noodles dry. There were like 5 jumbo prawns with shallots, slight sweet sauce(?). It was ok tbh, nothing too special about it. Pretty ex for 13.90. Honestly, I would get the normal version for 6.90 if I come back next time.
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
There are a variety of prawn mee ($6.50) for you to choose from - classic prawns, jumbo prawns, and pork ribs. We ordered the classic one that came with 4 half prawns that were big, almost the size of my palm. For just $6.50, I was surprised at how juicy and big the prawns were! They were also very fresh, as expected from a store with a high run rate.

The prawn soup here definitely very very good.
Prawn definitely fresh. Just 3 jumbo prawns in the bowl of noodles. Sad that the prawns have no roe in it like other jumbo prawns i had at other places.
Shallots tasted good.
Portion of noodles quite small.
Prawn Soup definitely the best I ever had.
No queue on a weekend lunch time.
The prawn noodle here taste average to me but the prawns here are really fresh and tasty. I would not travel to the east side to queue for this, it is not very filling as well for the price paid.👍🏻👍🏻
