First of, I love the decor of the place! It's at the void deck of a HDB but it manages to stand out and has its own sense of class. Now on to the burger. The salted egg yolk burger comes with coleslaw but that's about it, so some might find $12 a bit steep. I do wish they'd have the option of fries for unhealthy people like me, but then again the burger is pretty filling so I don't think I'd have space anyway. The chicken thigh is juicy and crisp, and the sauce is thick and savory, not too sickly sweet, and the ratio of sauce:chicken:burger bun is perfect. I tried the Calrose Rice Bowl with tuna and salmon chunks ($14) but I was severely disappointed. It's a mediocre dish and not worth your stomach space when there are so many other delicious sounding dishes. I'll be back again! Oh yes and the banana Horlicks shake is pretty satisfying.
Before ordering from Deliveroo, I tried doing some research on the place via Burpple/Instagram, but vast majority of the photos were all about their rainbow cakes. I was craving for salted egg so of course I decided on their Shrimp with Salted Egg Pasta ($13.90) while my friend ordered the Beef Lasagne ($9.90). And we decided to wash it all down with Thai Milk Tea ($5). The Thai Milk Tea was acceptable, not too sweet though I do wish it was thicker with more of the tea aroma that we've come to love. The consistency of the salted egg sauce was good and went well with the pasta, not too sweet! Opening the container, you can immediately smell the salted egg aroma.!More chili padi would be good to give the pasta an extra kick though, but overall it's pretty decent. Beef lasagne looked quite small at first but it's actually rather filling, they're generous with the gravy and the layers were not too thick. Might try the paddlepop cheesecake next time, it's too gorgeous not to. #burppleroo #deliveroo
I love love love soba, but today I was feeling a little adventurous so I decided to try MOF's cold ramen instead! It certainly is quite different, but in a good way. As usual, #Burppleroo came in handy and my order came in around half an hour? The noodles were still nicely chilled, and the snow crab tempura I ordered was crispy too! But I'll still stick to Ebi Tempura. Those who love Japanese food, this week is your chance as Deliveroo is having Japanese week where 2 people can have a set for $25 at selected merchants :)
Was craving Indian food and decided to order in because I was too lazy to walk and it's way too hot to leave the house. Luckily Deliveroo has a pretty decent variety of options for you to choose from. Ordered Garlic Naan ($4.90) and Mutton Roganjosh ($17.90), and it came 15 minutes before the estimated time 👍🏻 Naan was decent, Roganjosh gravy was aromatic and thick. Only quibble is that the mutton could have been more tender. Starting 11-17 July you can try it out for yourself as Deliveroo will be having Indian Week. Certain merchants will be having 1 for 1 so do keep a look out, and enjoy~ #BurppleROO #BYDTB
Ordered their butter chicken and garlic naan, yum! Garlic naan was fragrant and tore apart oh so satisfyingly, crisp at the sides and soft in the centre. $3.50 for two slices should be more than enough! Butter chicken was full of flavour, very strong hint of tomato and sweetness. It's up to personal preference, bf preferred his mutton roganjosh which was tender and aromatic. Would definitely come back here again.
Been wanting to try this for awhile, especially the curry mee! I went for the dry kway teow version tossed in signature sauce for a ~slightly~ healthier option but had immediate regrets after trying my boyfriend's curry mee with pork belly, it was sooooo good. Slightly crispy fat and tender meat, the pork is perfectly executed. The curry mee is a very huge serving and can get a bit gelat after awhile, so actually I'd recommend sharing one bowl as long as you're not a big eater. And it's cheap too! We went at 2+ and almost everything was sold out so I couldn't try the western food or the radish cake. Will definitely be back again.
This cafe is easy to walk past, especially when it's along the same stretch as well known Pacamara and Habitat, but we decided to give it a try. Almost got the Salted Egg Pasta, but I decided to give the Chicken Confit a try. It comes with the typical mushroom cream sauce, mesclun salad, and potato wedges. At first I was really happy because there was a satisfying crackling sound when I cut into the skin, however the meat was not as tender as I would like, and it was a bit dry. The steak was quite decent. The oysters were fresh and plump and so worth it! Every Sunday all oysters are $1.50 with the purchase of any main, for the whole day. So if you're making a trip down, Sunday is the best and only day to do it.
(Also, they have free flow steak on weekends for $35++. You're welcome.) .

🍞 We had the rocher toast which comes with chocolates, hazelnut waffle biscuits, fudge sauce and scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Nicely buttered toast with a crisp exterior and soft within. The amount of butter was just nice for me while some may like it more. Anyway, congrats on your opening @shiberty! 🍰
To the naysayers who moan about bingsu just being glorified (and overpriced) ice kachang, I say be silent unless you've already tried it. Powdery, milky snow with different textures - soybean flour, chewy mochi, and nuts, I can see why the Injeolmi is a classic favourite.
Nothing but chill vibes at this place! Was a little apprehensive at first - normally I'm not a fan of combining sweet and savory food, what more a combination of warm watermelon and seafood. But this mix of sweet juicy watermelon chunks, cashew nuts, seafood fried rice and floss all went so beautifully together it really surprised me. The sweetness of the watermelon was brought out more by the cashew nuts and enhanced the taste of the fresh seafood. Every ingredient did its part and they all blended together harmoniously. Gin Khao has proved time and again that besides doing Thai classics, they can provide fusion food with their own twist. Thumbs up.
