Technically not a cafe, but the plating and dishes available give cafes everywhere a run for their money. Add in wallet-friendly prices (think $12.90 NETT for this Best of Both Worlds fish and chips) and you have yourself the perfect recipe. For indecisive greedy people like me who just want to try everything, this is great! It has both their signatures, the Chilli Crab and Salted Egg Yolk Fish, as well as chips and another side of your choice. The batter is perfect, not too oily or floury and the flesh flakes apart at the first cut. As for sauce, I love love love salted egg yolk but this time, the Chilli Crab sauce won my heart. The chips are great too, like the LJS fries of the past that have a crispy edge. My only complaint about this place is the waiting time, it took us 45 minutes from the time we placed our order till we got our food - but it was too good for me to be angry for long. Definitely a must try.

It started out with truffle fries, truffle xiao long bao, and now we have... truffle ramen ($16.90). A dry (and cold) version of the traditional Japanese ramen tossed in truffle oil with shavings for good measure. Normally I prefer my ramen soupy, probably because it's more "shiok" to slurp up, but for those who love the fragrant earthiness of truffle, this is worth a try. The aroma alone that wafts to you when the waiter sets your bowl down will get your salivary glands working. The texture of the noodles is a bit like Sarawak Kolo Mee, springy and with a nice bite. However the chashu was a bit too sweet for my liking. I'll be back again to try the dons and soup-based ramen!

This Bukit Pasoh restaurant may specialise in seafood and cocktails but boy do they know their way around eggs too! The Fried Egg (from $14), served with octopus, orzo and tete de moine (a type of Swiss cheese), is a stunner on their Sunday brunch menu. Crusted and golden outside, while remaining perfectly soft boiled and runny within, the egg adds great texture to the creamy pasta base.

At around $60 per person for all you can eat a fresh seafood and international buffet, I'd say that was a pretty sweet deal (like their crabs) The Alaskan crabs were so sweet and fresh I couldn't help but close my eyes and savor every bite. The oysters are also topped up regularly so you know they're fresh. Besides the seafood - think fresh mussels, prawns and baby octopus (I'd skip this one but the prawns are good) they also have a decent range of other cuisines. The beef was carved off right in front of me and was a little hard to cut, but was charred just the right amount and done medium rare. I'll be back again!

Recently there's been a nitrogen ice cream phase. Always found the process of them making it before your eyes cool, but it's too gimmicky without a substantial taste difference for me to be a fan. After all the ice cream isn't creamier or smoother just because it's made with the help of nitrogen, right? However, Chin Chin laboratories is worth a try at least once! Their toppings are amazing (loved the honeycomb chocolate) and they have seasonal flavours like pumpkin pie inn October - if you're feeling adventurous, give it a try! They have pretty cute merchandise as well like tote bags and shirts.

While I have had good conveyor belt sushi in Japan, this is the real deal. Sushi chefs making it right before your eyes and placing it on your leaf plate on the counter. Plus, check out those prices! They're for just one piece of sushi instead of the usual pair but it's still very cheap, had a satisfying meal for $12.

I was really disappointed at first because when I cut into the cake there was no oozing whatsoever, and I felt the portion was a tad small for the price we paid. But after I took that first bite my complaints were silenced. Cake was done perfectly, not too mushy or gelat. I do wish the inside had been more flowy, but taste wise I have no complaints, not overly sweet and I could taste the matcha 👍🏻 they have Thai Tea and red velvet flavours too, I'll definitely be back to try them next time. (P.S, really liked that when we sat down they served us a welcome tea cup of tom yum soup - just what we needed to warm us up!)

At $6, this bowl of ice cream is definitely pricier than BKK's version, but with the toppings and fresh coconut flesh, it's worth it. Everything I had there was a hit, it is possibly my new favourite restaurant. The coconut ice cream is almost as good as Chatuchak's, probably because of the fresh coconut and cashew and corn toppings. The ice cream itself was not as creamy as the one I had in Thailand though.

Scallop Mentaiyaki Carpaccio is a must order whenever I come to Sushi Bar (besides the sushi rolls of course). Thinly sliced fresh scallop done carpaccio style goes wonderfully with the salty creaminess of the mentaiko sauce. More please!

While its known as a good lunch spot, it is the pure decadence of the dinner menu that makes it perfect for a "Treat Yourself" night. Gather three friends, and expect to get your hands greasy. Be wise and order four things to share. The two must-trys are the heart-stoppingly delicious Patty Melt on Rye ($16), and the delightful Cured Meat Sandwich ($16) — cool, creamy mozzarella atop a stack of assorted cured meats between brioche buns. Dunk the sinfully oozy Grilled Cheese ($14) into the roasted tomato dip and into your mouth — cue inappropriate noises. Finish off with the PB&J ($8) that is crusted in cornflakes then fried. Wash this all down with an ice-cold pint — you'll need it.

One thing that annoyed me is there is a minimum spend per person, of at least 140TWD if I'm not wrong! We were originally deciding between this and the peanut one but the peanut was only 220 TWD so we couldn't get it... I know places like Ice Monster and Dazzling Cafe are must tries when you go to Taiwan but I think if you only have two or three days you should skip it and go to places that can't be found in Singapore! Ok but ice monster's mango was super juicy and sweet, loved it! And the tofu pudding was silky smooth I practically vacuumed up every mouthful
