My eyes widened when I saw the word dark chocolate because of the many benefits such as high level of antioxidants and improving blood circulation. First bite and I was a little disappointed because it's slightly sweeter than I imagined. The texture is good and refined but I will prefer it to have a more bitter cocoa taste.
Buttery shortcrust and a delectable almond base perfectly complement the luscious topping of every tart. The lemon meringue is incredibly light, fluffy and fragrant, and hidden beneath it is a wonderfully balanced tangy lemon curd. The chocolate tart is velvety smooth and equally satisfying. Imo superior in every way to the overrated Tiong Bahru Bakery, at half the price!
Chocolate Hazelnut Tart of the day! One of the best chocolate tart, I ever eaten in my life! The roasted hazelnuts are so crunchy and fragrant! The chocolate fudge filling is so soft and smooth, that it melts instantly in your mouth!
Located at the 2nd storey of an old building, a small brightly lit patisserie serves up this well-known chef-patisser's exquisite Japanese-French style creations. His latest invention, the Luna Wrap, has the fluffiest sponge cake (similar to a pancake) filled with lightly whipped flavoured cream. I tried the matcha one, which also includes a layer of azuki cream and chestnuts on top. Also, I tried the Mount Fuji, which has the moistest chocolate cake, layered with super light chestnut cream, chestnuts and a thin layer of rough puff pastry (slightly salted), resulting in this winning combination. What stood out about his delectable cakes is that they're aren't too sweet, which made devouring 2 cakes all by myself less guilty. 😂 I'll be back for more.
Hummingbird cake (banana/pineapple/coconut) was so moist, dense and I probably can't finish it on my own. Strawberry tofu cheesecake was good as usual! Both cakes are $5.90 each.
crispy yet not oily
Must eat in Thailand
