Tbh... EXTREMELY pricey but at least it was good!! The whole plate of food was just real yumz like the avos were so well-ripened, eggs were perfectly fried, chorizo was rly tasty & had a good bite and sourdough was good too!! Portion is rather big but still... the price is on the steeper side :/
Mul Naengmyeon ($15.80)
I love bibim naengmyeon and visually, this looked appetising la tbh. Taste was kinda flat, nothing surprised me out of the ordinary and this is what lead me to a grave mistake by adding few pumps of the mustard provided in hopes that itâll elevate the dish. Bro, I freaking died sia LOL it tasted like wasabi but not as spicy all over my noodles omg bye. I HATE MUSTARD BUT WHO KNEW THAT I STILL DO. I only eat mustard with sausages..... why did I even do that to myself. And right after I did this, I couldnât continue eating alr LMAO my whole body repel. I also felt that there was too little cucumber in it for the refreshing crunch. Noodleâs texture was great and the sauce had bits of minced beef (I think!). The portion was generally quite big but I feel that this was pricey. Maybe coz not v nice then I canât justify the value in it HAHA.
Seafood Kalguksu ($13.80)
Very bland and light tasting broth, noodles were thick and couldâve been a little chewier for a better texture. Idk, my friend wanted to cry after eating this because itâs not nice to her HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. To me, a $4 banmian fares way better in terms of flavour LOLX. Itâs just too bland alr lah.
Gogi Mandu ($9.80)
When it was served... the first thing I said was âhuh only 5 pieces siaâ LOL DAMN EX LEH COS ITâS NOT EVEN GIGANTIC!!!! Which makes it arnd $2 for one?! Sot man. Taste was still quite ok, no vermicelli inside, tasted more like a chinese styled dumpling but the skin was chewy and quite good.
THIS WAS THE BEST PANCAKE I HAVE EVER HAD OH MY GOD IT WAS SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO DELICIOUSSSDSZCCENDOWNSIW!!!!!!!!!
Ok I know itâs expensive, but srsly itâs bloody good. We got the Butterscotch Banana Pancakes ($19.9) and itâs gigantic, good for sharing between 3-4 people cause it can get surfeiting. Even so, god damn, every element was perfect. From the ice cream to the cornflakes to the syrup to the pancake.... geeeezzzzz. The pancake was so crunchy on the outside yet so fluffy & soft inside!!!! Not dry at all. I think they used buttermilk cos the batter was damn fragrant sia ugh omg rly damn nice :-( I wld travel down just for this!!!!!!! đ„șđ„șđ„ș idk how they made it but wa NO OTHER PANCAKE WILL SUFFICE NOW.
Itâs pricey and crowded. Be prepared to queue for about 1h+ without reservations. Fish was fresh and quite sizeable but I wouldnât say itâs worth the money. Add-ons were $3.50 each but portion was pathetic. However the mala broth was quite good!
Iâve said it once and Iâll say it again, Shift (used to be Upside Down Coffee Alternatives) has one of the best coffee in SG. REALLY. Itâs so nutty and wholesome with oat milk and the aroma of their coffee lingers on your tongue with every sip. I LOVEEEEEEE.
Bolo Bun ($2)
I thought this was pretty subpar lel especially for something thatâs from HK and apparently famous then why do the elements not gel together as one?? The crust and bread tastes separated like they werenât made together LOL Iâve had a fair share of bolo buns and this is not it. Itâs edible lah but why the heck would I queue for this??? Crystal jade does it better ha ha.
Egg Tarts (Cookie Base) ($2.20)
I absolutely hated the custard, I had them the following morning after heating it up in the toaster. Why is the texture soooo jelly-like???? Not soft nor melt-in-your-mouth, just huh? Was it because I reheated them? The tart was pretty good though, itâs firm, crumbly when bitten and buttery. Thatâs prolly the only good part of it all :(
Was expecting better for a HK-originated joint with much improvements needed.
An okay cup of coffee, slightly too milky for my liking but I could taste the roasted aroma and nutty aftertaste of their coffee beans.
Super generous with the fish roe!!! the portion seemed a bit small but itâs rather filling and itâs better for sharing cos it gets rather surfeiting after a few bites. But it was creamy like youâd expect out of a mentaiko pasta and soooo umami until it was a bit too salty. Nevertheless, still a rather palatable dish for those who enjoy mentaiko!
Very yummy! Super worth it with the beyond deal. The rice was reminiscent of pepper lunch cum Japanese garlic fried rice along with very tender beef that visually looked really dry but NO IT IS DELICIOUS. THUMBS UP đ€Șđđ»
This appetiser is so up my lane. The fried wanton skins paired so well with the creamy mix of crab sticks, cucumbers, avocado and fish roes. Good for sharing as it can get a little cloying but I absolutely loved this!
Matcha White Chocolate ($8)
Bruh.... bruh........... this cake was so frickin delicious I think Jesus himself made it...... itâs so perfect from head to toe ugh. The first cake to ever make me tear bc I was so touched at the taste LOL I AM DRAMATIC AS HELL my friend asked me whatâs wrong with me. Itâs perfectly sweet, matcha was slightly bitter, white choc not cloying, cake layers were moist and soft.... my god idk how to describe it anymore lah just go and try itâs rly damn good sia wtf đ
Orh Nee ($8)
I donât eat orh nee and I kinda hate it tbh I donât dig the texture nor the taste but this was ok for me!!! The taste was similar to sweet potatoes but not as strong of an earthy taste. The cake had a good balance of sweetness and was light on the palate. I would have it again, no doubt, and this is coming from a yam hater mind u.
I LOVE LUNA AND I WANNA LIVE THERE TO BECOME A BIG FAT BALL BC OF THEIR CAKES PLS I NEED A LIFETIME SUPPLY!!!!!!
AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, BIG BOI PORTIONS MUACKS đ Damn gurllllll this unassuming cafe with a lack of visually appealing interior serves a pretty damn sick breakfast platter. This Fry Up ($22) just changed the whole game of breakfast platters in cafe because what the heck at the portion?! Even without beyond I would gladly pay $22 for this big ass plate again and again!!!! I have not seen another cafe this generous before. The bacon was so crispy and itâs a mountain, legit. The baked beans were smth I never had before??? Damn nice along with the sourdough!!!! There were some baked potatoes below the toast which had a bit of a gochujang marinade kinda flavour which I didnât enjoy at first but couldnât stop eating it LOLZ. Oh yeah but the chorizo was a bit weird.... like powdery almost and had a similar taste to smth like a meatball?? Oof aside from that the whole thing was gr8 I give it 10/10 for a satisfying meal đđ€đ»
