Crave for some truffle and sliced beef?
I was with a friend @tanukiraw NDC Outlet for dinner. I ordered the NDC Truffle Yakiniku. It came with an onsen egg, pan-seared US black angus short rib, drizzled with truffle soy sauce, and house-made pickles. I loved the beef. Each slice of the beef was tender, succulent and flavorful. And when I reached the Tanuki Raw’s signature rice, I simply loved the texture. It was a mixed of sushi rice and furikake and seasoned vinegar. I believe you can simply eat it alone. Delicious!

Missing Israeli food?
Singapore’s first Israeli Eatery, @miznonsg, just opened!
We decided to go for lunch @miznonsg as my partner likes kosher food.
A cozy, warm wooden finishing seatings, with an open kitchen concept. It has a alfresco area, which will be nice with a cooler weather in Singapore.
Here were our orders:
1. Hraime - tomato stew with paprika, garlic, red chilies, and cumin, together with barramundi fillet. The fillet was crisped and well seasoned but I felt it’s a bit too small 🤪. This dish served together with pita, with tahini and tiny chopped chili sauce. So you can simply filled the pita with Hramie alone or spread the tahini and chili sauce onto the pita and filled it up with Hramie. Your choice.
2. Bag of Green Beans - it served in a brown bag! A surprise! I thought this was quite a smart move. No need to do much dish washing 😊. The green beans n pea sprouts were tossed in lemon, olive oil, salt and garlic. Love them but not for my stomach today.
3. Hot chickpeas - it came with sliced eggs, onions, tomato cube and chopped spicy green chilies. The chickpeas were cooked with their tahini which was made from the best quality sesame seeds found in Israel. It was mixed with rich olive oil and lemon juice. This gave the chickpeas a nutty yet flavorful, well balanced palate.
A great place for some tasty Mediterranean food with friendly staff and service.

Fluffy and mouth-watering Pan cakes. Anyone?
Had passed by @clintonst_sg many times. Today decided to give go in for breakfast as the place looked less crowded. Nice atmosphere and very friendly and welcoming staff. Seldom have such service in a while in Singapore. Kudos to their service!
1. Banana Walnut Pan Cakes - we ordered it as it is their signature dish (pan cakes). They also come with blueberry n chocolate, your choice. First bite, indeed it was fluffy and had it deep flavor of eggs and butter. As you sliced and devoured it, with the rich and delicious homemade maple butter, is the perfect sauce to pair.
2. Biscuit Sandwich - it was served with extra scrambled eggs (as we asked for no bacons), with melted cheddar, house-made tomato jam, with delicious hash browns (not the usual but chunky). We ordered this dish was mainly bcos of the biscuit. But personally I felt it was a bit disappointing. It was a bit thin, not crispy but soggy.
Overall a nice place with wonderful service. Will try out the other dishes soon.

Brunch anyone?
First time trying out @thuscoffee after a visiting a nearby clinic. Ordered the Salmon & Kale Toast. I was a bit disappointed by the presentation. It was a dish of smoked salmon on brioche with avocado spread, sous vide egg, citrusy kale, spinach, cherry tomatoes, and almond slices. Overall the dish had its balance taste, with so many components within a dish. However if they could be a bit more generous with their smoked salmon and the avocado, and a bit more kale, the money spent will be a bit more worth while. Their other dishes had good reviews. Presently 2 outlets - Star Vista and Jln Kuras.

Went to #文庆新时代 for dinner with some friends. Ordered a few dishes. These were some of them which I would recommend to try if you happened to be there. (Order of the photos)
Dish 1: saliva chicken 口水鸡. This is a cold dish. I usually don’t take too much spicy food. But this cold dish is one of my favorites. It was literally “mouthwatering” with the Sichuan spices, smothered onto the chicken, with numbing rich spicy and sweet sauces. It was a savory dish. The spices used kind of “wake up” your taste buds and made you wanted to have more.
2. Scrambled Eggs with Tomatoes 西红柿炒蛋. This was more or less a common dish and it was simple one that you could cook it at home. Over here, the tangy tomatoes, with a hint of sugar, flavorful sesame oil, shaoxing wine mixed with scrambled eggs, made this dish a delicious one that you can eat with plain white rice.
3. Chinese Sauerkraut & Pickled Pepper with Beef 老纭泡椒菜水煮. This dish cake with a choice of fish, beef or pork. The spicy and sour taste of the soup, I think the mix should be with fish. However the fish they used were dory, which I have stopped taking this fish for many years already. The beef meats used were to chewy. I believe this dish will taste better if they were to select a more lean beef meat.
4. Chong Qing style spicy chicken 重庆辣子鸡. Again I usually don’t like spicy food, but this dish tasted really good. The deadly spicy look of this dish might scare non spicy lovers away, but you can be sure that it will not burn a hole in your mouth. It was not too oily and the small bite-size chicken meats were “crunchy”. I just wish that the chicken skin could be removed before cooking. Just me. Haha.
Overall, a nice place to eat and enjoy some delicious food if you are looking for hot and spicy ones.

A friend brought me to this beef kway teow mee at Jln Besar, formerly from 结霜橋. Ordered the beef soup noodle. Love the taste of the broth, a well balance of sweetness and beefy-ness (if there is such a word. Haha). The sliced beef was nice and tender. They open from 10am to 6pm daily. Go and try out if you are around this hawker. There are many other good food as well.

Learned about #chuanjibakeryhainanesedelicacies from CNA 2 days ago, decided to give it a try, to #supportlocalfnbsg. The main dishes selection is simple (see the last photo). Since we don’t really take pork (which most people will order, since hainanese pork chop is suppose to be more popular), we left only the beef stew and the chicken chop.
1. Chicken Chop - hainanese style with a starchy, thick tomato sauce, with peas and onions, drenched on the chicken chop, that was coated with cream cracker crumbs, deep fried into golden brown batter. The meat was still juicy and tender.
2. Beef stew - it was served with chunks of beef, potatoes and carrots. It had a rich gamey flavor (which might not be acceptable by some people), and the starchy gravy was a bit blend for me. However the beef was soft and tore apart easily.
We also tried the flaky biscuit (which is not in the photo), with 13 ingredients inside, giving each bite, a unique taste. To me, it was a bit too sweet and “heavy” if one had to finish one whole biscuit. So it will be good to share it with friends, cut into quarters, I believe will be ideal.
