My oh my was this downright sinful. 1000 calories, but no regrets. The Peanut Butter Pancake (~$1.20) was coated fully with sloppy peanut butter, then more peanut crumbly bits.
-
TLDR: edges were crispy thin, MJK texture was so!!! damn!!! chewy!!! and not soggy ๐ฅณ If youโve had bad MJK before then itโs time fr this I swEAR๐คช

For $7 more, you get the ๐๐ค๐ช๐ง๐ข๐๐ฉ ๐๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ (~$18.90), which was grilled to a nice medium doneness. The thiccc milk loaves soaked up the oil wellโ a beautiful yummy mess, to say the least. ๐ฅช

OK THIS IS A STEAL. Donโt say I didnโt tell ya. For a crispy chOnky boi, get the Itโs crispy and fried to a t on the outside, covered with a salty-sour tonkatsu sauce, and sandwiched in some mean fluffy Hokkaido bread. And also 12 bux, cโmon.๐ฅฉ

One word: Overwhelming. Thatโs exactly what I felt about the ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ ๐. ๐ฝ๐๐๐ค๐ฃ. ๐๐ก๐๐๐๐ฉ. ๐๐๐๐๐. (~$23)

I do love me a good sweet and savoury balance, but here itโs confusing, extra, even. Maple infused pancakes were dense and sweet, and it paired awkwardly with the onion jam and barbecued butter. ๐ฅ
-
Dangling aesthetically from a pole (?) were three types of bacon: paprika, bacon back and maple glazed. I wasnโt a fan of the paprika one especially, since it clashes the already messy flavours even more.๐ฅ
-
The components are good, but ON THEIR OWN. The pancakes wouldโve been good with ice cream and butter, the bacon wouldโve been good with fluffy hotcakes. Throw them together and itโs a recipe for tastebud disaster. โน๏ธ

Truly unbeatable value for ramen. Buta Kinโs ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ก ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ฉ๐จ๐ช ๐๐๐ข๐๐ฃ (~$7.90) isnโt your usual heavy-pork broth style, opting for a lighter, smoother (cleaner?) base.
-
I didnโt have high expectations considering how I just happened to walk past this, but the char on the cha shu was well done, emphasising the lean meat while contrasting the fatty bits. ๐๐
-
Equally as impressive was the ramen egg, though not perfect, the yolk was gooey through ๐ฅบ
-
Itโs not the best esp the broth, but at this price point, definitely worth checking out.

Actually, there is a way to make pizza even more sinful, like in the case of ๐๐๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐๐จ (~$14). The cheese clumped too quickly and they honestly COULD be more generous with the pepperoni, but this was as pizza-flavoured as they could make it ๐๐

๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ก ๐๐ค๐ ๐ ๐ฝ๐ค๐ฌ๐ก (~$17) left me with mixed feelings. The addition of candied cashews was genius โ sweet and salty against the creamy guacamole and cold sashimi, but the salmon wasnโt the freshest to be frank. Not sure if this poke bowl justified the price tag ๐ค

If you thought your studying content is dry, the ๐ฝ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ค๐ง๐ฉ๐ง๐๐๐จ ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ (~$16) is drier. I have no idea how a sandwich can be dry even with melted cheese, but youโd be surprised.

Lunaโs ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ ๐พ๐๐ ๐ (~$8) really screamed MATCHA. Those of yโall who eat sleep breathe matcha powder, this oneโs for you. ๐ต
-
With matcha powder sprinkled on top of fluffy peaks of matcha cream, the cake was off to a light mousse-like start. Sink your teeth in deeper to reveal a dense sponge chiffon (which, surprisingly even radiated matcha) and of course the best part of it all- packed layers of matcha cream. ๐ฐ
-
Now, this wasnโt just your run of the mill sweet af matcha cream. No, this puts those wannabe cafes that offer matcha desserts for the sake of incorporating matcha in their menu to SHAME. I was undoubtedly thrown off, and pleasantly surprised, though I wouldโve liked thicker layers of sponge cake to balance it. ๐ฅฐ

Loaded with delicious thicccc globs of feta cheese to thicken the tomato sauce base, this ๐๐๐๐ ๐จ๐๐ช๐ ๐ (~$12.90) adopted a creamy texture.
-
Personally loved the addition of dukkah to nullify the sweeter taste of the base, and the wobbly eggs!!!! Burst worthy๐ฅบ
-
Added some ๐๐ข๐ค๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ก๐ข๐ค๐ฃ (~$3.50) for more meat on top of the Chorizo: good for slow Sat brunches, though the Shakshuka could be more tangy.
Ig @goodfomood
My go to dessert flavour is chocolate, but I went out on a limb here to get the ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ค ๐๐ค๐ข๐๐ก๐ค ๐๐๐ง๐ฉ (~$8.50) and being a risk taker does pay off! ๐คฃ
-
Itโs tangy, milky, slightly thick and nutty. The marriage of sour from the mango pomelo lime compote, sweetness from the mango pops, and rich floral flavour of the coconut is a good one.๐ฅฅ
-
I love Kuraโs play on textures here (similar to their La Vie En Rose), with the coconut crispy flakes providing a slightly resistant bite. ๐ฎ
-
I only wish the sponge layer was more mousse like and airy though, it did come across a bit heavy.

Iโm on a hunt to find some decent French toast in Singapore after @ronin.sg and @boufesg closed, and sadly Sarniesโ ๐ฝ๐ง๐๐ค๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐ค๐๐จ๐ฉ (~$22.50) was not up to par.
-
When looking for French toast, Iโm looking for a strong eggy and custardy presence. Sarniesโ was none of that. A hard, tough and thick brioche toast wasnโt easy on the jaws, and I missed the whole eggy component. โน๏ธ
-
Thereโs only so much generous toppings can do: though their Choco crumbs and fresh berries could nearly mask up some of my disappointment.
