Soft launch has been constantly posting about this dessert on their instagram, so we decided to give this a shot. The dessert looks super pretty with the pastel purple ice cream, contrasting with the charcoal waffle, but I would have to rate this 0/10. The waffle tasted like just plain charcoal which freaked me out and the yam ice cream, had no flavour, whatsoever. I'm a regular at soft launch as their drinks are pretty good but I don't think that I will give their desserts another shot. π
For this mother's day, instead of the usual Western meal, we decided to go for Chinese food. Not gonna lie, but this dish was mega expensive at RM 80 plus for 2 pieces of crustacean and the noodles itself were quite soggy and appeared to be wantan noodles and lack the crispiness that is the fundamental sang har meen starter pack. Also, the dish was quite salty for me and the msg was so intense that I had to down lots of water after that. Will nothing ever beat Mei Keng Fatt's seafood? π
I've been coming to this place for over a year now and most of the days are during my super stressed days. Why I like this place is because EACH PERSON GETS THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL POTS! This means, whatever that you put in, is all yours and no sharing is needed π. The meats are all sliced to order and it's unlimited! They price different during lunch and dinner. RM30+ for lunch and RM40+ for dinner and have up to 7 different soup base. I'd recommend the pork bone soup base because the longer it boils, the more flavorful it gets!
Mega value for money place. RM11.90 for a chicken chop that is actually quite yummy tasting! This place don't accept reservations tho, so remember to go early as they are always, constantly packed with wishful diners hoping to secure a place or you can try out their other branches that aren't s busy as the SS2 ones. Really looking forward to head back and to try out their pork dishes π
Guess what i ate for lunch today. Ever crave for a pork burger but you're in sunway pyramid? I got you covered. Located in the marakesh area, tulip by that latte place serves an array of pork dishes. Their lunch sets are pretty awesome too. A selection of pork burger + piccolo latte =RM18 ONLY. The flavour of the patty was good however I was quite disappointed by the bread as it was too hard for my liking. Portion is pretty decent for the price and I will definitely be hitting this place up more often for lunch.
Super disappointed with their sotong goreng! Look at how thinly sliced it was π. Also I think it cost about RM12 for this? Totally not worth it but on the upside, the crab rassam was still A+
Foret blanc has a reputation of dishing out beautifully made custom cakes and could possibly bake anything that your heart desires. They finally decided to open up their own cafe in Sentosa, PJ. Decided to try out their salted egg yolk special (RM24.90). At first I was taken aback by the price of this dessert and then slowly came to a realization that it has both a molten cake and a waffle combo. This dessert is not for the faint hearted π, best to share amongst 3 people. The cake and the salted egg yolk sauce was really tasty, however the waffle was bland and soggy and I have definitely tasted better waffles out there.
At this point, i feel like bacon & balls's ambassador. Amazingly crackly, succulent pork knuckle that only cost about RM 84. yes, the entire pork knuckle with a side of salad and mashed potatoes. So much effort is put into roasting this pork knuckle and they do it on the spot as well which is why a preorder is needed atleast a day before if you would like to chow down on this beauty. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside and super flavourful with or without the brown sauce. Remember to take the bone home and get yo mama to boil you a delicious pot of soup and if you have leftover meat, they're great for making sandwiches π€€
Oh my! I've been here ever since I was 10! What an upgrade they have had since I last came back π the duck was still as tasty as ever and it really was still a value for money dish, just nice for a party of 6. Would skip out on the char siew omelette tho. It was way too oily for me.
My friends have been raving about this quaint little shop in taman paramount, so i decided to give this place a shot for dessert after my korean filled dinner. Located right next to awesome canteen, there lies kakigori. The place is usually pretty crowded on weekends and serve only desserts. This was their strawberry and chocolate bingsu, priced at RM19. The strawberry topping was alright, but the the chocolate mousse made up for it, just wished that it would cover the entire bingsu instead π. Oh, and you will need to collect and return your bowls and cutleries once you're done as how the japs do it! They open until 11pm too.
There is no way to describe where this pan mee is located as it is legitly by the roadside. This is not the usual pan mee with the minced pork and clear soup. This one packs a punch with onions and garlic leaving the broth cloudy and flavorful. You must eat this with their homemade chilli. Pour the chilli into the soup, stir and gobble up. RM 7 ish for the large bowl π€
I was looking to try out a new place for pork burger and found out that this cafe serves them! Got a shock of my life when the burger was priced at RM25. From that point on I prayed that it would taste fantastic and that the portion would be a decent size. Taste wise it was alright, nothing amazing but portion size, it was so small, i was still starving after π. We also ordered an aglio olio + roast pork, bear in mind that you have to pay an additional RM6 FOR ONE SLICE OF ROAST PORK and the skin wasn't even crackly crispy. Their latte was alright and was probably the best tasting item thereπ. Total damage done was about RM68 for a burger, pasta and a coffee. You've been warned.
