Sweets!
My friends have been raving about this quaint little shop in taman paramount, so i decided to give this place a shot for dessert after my korean filled dinner. Located right next to awesome canteen, there lies kakigori. The place is usually pretty crowded on weekends and serve only desserts. This was their strawberry and chocolate bingsu, priced at RM19. The strawberry topping was alright, but the the chocolate mousse made up for it, just wished that it would cover the entire bingsu instead š. Oh, and you will need to collect and return your bowls and cutleries once you're done as how the japs do it! They open until 11pm too.
December is a popular month for birthdays and this time it was my grandma's birthday. So a little backstory on this cake drama. I ordered a 0.5kg cake at the Sunway Pyramid store, paid RM100 for it and when I came back 4 working days later, apparently my order was not taken down. At that moment, I probably died 1000 times inside. Thankfully the two staff working on 15/12/2016 around 1pm was kind enough to offer me the same cake but at 1kg. I would like to say that this cake tasted a little bit sweeter thanks to the two helpful staff at the Sunway pyramid branch. š
This year, our family had an ice cream cake year. This time round for mom's birthday I decided to go ahead and try out Haagen dazz's ice cream cake! The cake I chose had a macadamia nut ice cream filling which was not too sweet however it was not as nutty as I hope it would be. I got the 1kg cake, priced at RM150.
Who still remembers ss2's KTZ? It's been years since i've been there and as usual I got the black sesame and peanut butter 'tong sui'. The black sesame was a little diluted but the peanut paste was as good as ever. Service however was such a let down! We waited for 30 minutes for our desserts even after reminding the staff that they forgot about us :(. Thankfully, just in time for the LAST black sesame bowl!
Burgerlab has been one of my favourite places to grab a burger ever since they opened! We go way back š. We scored their signature brownies (RM15) for dessert. Verdict, I wished that there was more brownies and less ice cream or at least equalize the portion of the brownie and ice cream. Taste wise, i will always root for brownies that are not sickeningly sweet and this brownie did the job!
Located among the car workshops and pssstttt right behind myburgerlab sunway, lies softcore molton cake & co. I have been there tons of times and i keep coming back for their molten cakes! I have tried almost all of them from the dark chocolate molten cake to their salteg egg yolk cake, think liu sha bao but in a cake form. My least fav would be the salted caramel flavour. Their molton cakes range from (RM13 - RM 15). I would advise against ordering their coffee but their tea selection is pretty good!
This weekend's dessert pick was at villa ju bakery owned by a Korean couple. I typically go for oreos or injeolmi bingsu but i decided to give this fruity number (RM18.90) a try instead. I was pleasantly surprised and it was actually quite refreshing, after a bbq meal. This place has two floors and a ton of Korean pastries as well which i will come back to try!
7 inches of durian flavoured goodness! Although i wished that the chocolate rice cripies center was not added in. This cakes feed about 7-10 people. Aesthetically pretty and you can also customize up to 2 flavours! (RM128)
Im a really picky froyo person back when tutti frutti was all the rage, i hated it but when llao llao opened, i was really really hesitant to try it, terrified that i'l be disappointed once more. After the first spoon, i felt like the froyo god has answered my prayers. Highly recommend the lotus biscuit sauce, kiwis and top it off with the lotus biscuit crumbs. (RM14.90)
