Food is served in a plastic takeaway bowl instead of the beautiful porcelain bowl, but I'll gladly pay less to skip the insane queue and have better ventilation.

Nassim hill is located just off tanglin and hidden in a quiet corner, with convenient parking availability an almost certainty. But what I like best about this place.. They open at 8am and happy hours start right when the doors are open!

Imagine, soft bee hoon, which has been cooked and simmered slowly in deliciously rich chicken stock with a subtle sweetness of seafood. Add in a generous amount of fried eggs to soak up all that goodness, and a liberal serving of fresh seafood along with it, and you have a unique dish with a legion of loyal fans. This is like the love-child of hokkien mee and xo bee hoon, except there aren't any crispy lard bits nor wok hei; some may say that is why it doesn't justify the waiting time, but you could eat plates of this without feeling sick or "jelat". Also feels healthier, somewhat!

Always try to go earlier to avoid the long queues, and aim for lunch instead of dinner. That way, it will be a 15mins instead of a 30-60mins wait.

This was a masterclass in textures; soft fillet that could melt, meat so finely minced it would be more correct to label it a paste/paté, and mash so light and velvety it actually deserves to be called a cream. Well balanced, delicate flavours, akin to a harmonious medley.

Also featuring poached brocolli with nutmeg butter and spices, tastes that excite the palate. A simple, understated dish that deserves it's own spotlight.

Savoury proscuitto ham with luscious silvers of fat, combined with buttery pine-nuts and milky chunks of mozzarella balls. But it was actually the brilliantly done pesto that stole the show; a winsome and well-balanced recipe of garlic, basil and pine-nuts with extra-virgin olive and cheese. This looks a sashimi platter, but is in fact a chirashi don with an overflowing selection of premium seafood, available only on certain days when they fly in their seafood. Quite a steal for the price, given the quality (otoro and uni!), and also that it comes with complimentary chawanmushi and ice cream. Only issue with the food was that the fish were cut too thick, and that there was so much sashimi, it didn't taste as fresh nearing the end of the meal as it did when served. Topped with speculoos, it makes for an amazing and innovative alternative to chocolate syrup for the star of the show, their amazingly fluffy waffles. Sampled almost all their ice cream; all the waffles and ice cream were freshly made in store, and what impressed was the quality. Standouts include the intense earl grey, creamy alligator peak (avocado), savoury cookie (speculoos), and my personal favourite, the refreshing coconut (bought a tub home).
