(18 SGD) Sichuan restaurant in MBFC for the spicy cuisine and a decent amount of vegetarian options. This is one dish however where I would have prefer the meat version. It felt like it lacked something.

(13 SGD) Delicate veggie wontons topped with dou miao in numbingly spicy chili oil. Highly recommend for spice lovers.

(SGD 23++) Delivery from Tonkatsu Kazan in Novena. Came pretty hot and with the broth packed separately and neatly to avoid spills. Tasty ramen spicy tonkatsu broth with thin springy noodles. The chasu is of a thicker cut yet very tender. Comes topped with seaweed, chili, chopped scallions bean sprouts and half an egg perfectly soft boiled and marinated. Set includes 6 pan fried gyoza. Please excuse my poor plating skills.

Clam noodles (SGD 7) more like a cold clam salad. Baby clams, peanuts, shredded veggies, topped with chili and pork rinds. Honesty couldn’t identify most of the ingredients. Came with a very liquidy yet strong shrimpy sauce. A unique mix of flavors that I enjoyed but could be an acquired taste.

(SGD 6) Kinda disappointed with this dish, more creamy and less spicy than my taste and the noodles were thick. Decent amount of stir fried veggies.

(SGD 12++) Sweet sticky mock pork ribs quite delicious and can barely tell that it’s mock meat. After a while can get a bit jelat. Quite vegetarian eatery near Bendemeer Market with quick service. They also sell veg/ mock meat products.

Refreshing and healthy meal. Soy based mock chicken, capsicum in an authentic braised sauce. Perfectly steamed and salted veggies on the side.

Nasi lemak with fried chicken wing, otah, long beans and chilli. Fresh and flavorful, the chilli is not too spicy. They have several set meals too but none with both meat and veg. There was quite a queue at lunch time but it moved quickly like McD.

Vegetarian crab noodles from the kind bowl a cosy hole in the wall eatery on Killney. The soup is refreshing with a mildly tangy spicy taste so I added in the chilli padi. Made with fresh mint leaves, onions and pineapples which had absorbed the soup so well that you couldn’t taste the sweetness. The tofu based crab cakes were pretty unique and tasty and fortunately did not have a fishy flavor. Substantial portion for one person.

Takeaway from Mrs Pho House (13 SGD). Really liked this refreshing pho. Didn’t have a strong chicken flavor which is the way I liked it. The chilli and tamarind sauces are pretty good too.

In two minds about this dish. The deconstructed (read minced) tofu mixed with finely chopped veggies and deep fried is perfectly crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth soft on the inside. However the yuzu flavored mayo sauce was too strong on the citrusy taste and felt it needed something else to balance it out.
