A new brunch cafe in Botanical Gardens next to Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden. They have a build your own board with brunch items for $15.9 for 3 items and $24.9 for 5 items with an extensive choice from Bakery, Eggs, Dairy, Fruit and veggies, Protien and sweet treats. I picked the focaccia, smoked salmon and garlic and thyme mushrooms. Salmon and mushrooms were great but I’ve had better focaccia. The 3 items is good for small appetites. It’s recommended to make a reservation.

[SGD 23.90++] pasta cooked perfectly Al dente in a pink sauce. Splash of gochugaru gives a subtle spicy kick. Scallops are fresh and beautifully seared. Pet friendly cosy place to sit along Jalan Besar. There’s a short queue at lunchtime.

(17 SGD) takeaway from Black Fairy’s all day brunch menu. Poached eggs on crispy Canadian bacon and a buttered toasted brioche bun. Just what you’d expect from an eggs benny and it carried well with the hollandaise sauce in a separate container. Came with lettuce, purple cabbage salad garnished with what seemed like bits of crushed cheesecake crust.

(26.90 SGD) Pasta Fresca let’s you choose a sauce and fresh pasta to pair it with. I picked the tomato crabmeat sauce with whole grain tagliatelle. The sauce was a basic tomato with garlic but the star was the fresh crabmeat about the size of mince meat. Was pleasantly surprised by the quantity of crabmeat, you get a decent amount in every bite without the overall dish being too fishy. Tagliatelle was fresh and perfectly cooked al dente which nicely complimented the dish. The outdoor seating area got a bit stuffy due to the lighting and when they closed the blinds for the rain.

(22 SGD) with crispy skin and flaky interior, the snapper mains was delightful. Placed on a bed of stir fried shimeji mushrooms and onions not visible in the pic. The peas purée and tomato condiments complimented the fillet well. Plating makes the dish look small but it was quite substantial. Only gripe about Fyr is that it’s location is not ideal, it’s on a busy road.

(11.90 SGD) Absolutely delicious stir fry flat noodles With prawns, flower squid, onions and green beans. Love the taste of the finely chopped garlic in the sauce. Be warned this version is very deceptively spicy with the shredded chilli padi, you can request to make is less spicy. The restaurant is a small casual dining place in Havelock2 serving Thai street food. Will be back to try the other dishes

(12.50 SGD) from green dot’s new seasonal menu. Contains mushroom, enoki tempura, lettuce and various types of mock seafood. Rice is a mix of brown and white. The gravy is deliciously addictive and deceptively spicy. Like ordering from greendot for WFH lunches since the meals are so clean and light.

The small (4sgd) was pretty substantial portion for small appetites. The soup is delicately flavored with two fresh prawns meatballs crispy anchovies and veggies. They had run out of my favorite flat noodles will come back to try the dry version.

About 18.5 SGD, liked the fresh medium sized prawns with a faint garlicky taste coupled with spinach and basil on a tomato sauce base. Pizza is thin crust and has a smokey flavor but somewhat dry. However disappointed as it got squashed before delivery.

About SGD16, scrumptious tempura vegetables on a bed of curry rice. Liked the variety of vegetables enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, eggplant, pumpkin, green beans fried in tempura batter without being too greasy. Plated on top a mound of rice surrounded by curry. Curry rice was as expected and the quantity was a lot for small appetites. These are the kind of dishes where you don’t miss the meat.

(5 SGD) smooth and silky skin stuffed with juicy prawns and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds. Soaked up the sweet-savory sauce nicely. Was lucky to find little queue on a weekday around 12:30.

(28 SGD) A mild creamy sauce with fish slices, big prawns and a tonne of veggies- bean sprouts, kailand, mushrooms, etc. there’s more veggies than seafood in the broth, it comes with rice wafers like rice crispies which nicely soak up the sauce.
